Title: Little Bummed Post by River_Rat on Jan 15th, 2004, 7:16pm I want so bad to go to Nashville, especially after the Iowa Meet & Greet, I've never met so many cool people and all I really want to do is meet some more and to see some of you all again. The problem is we already have a fishing trip planned for the week of July 17th-24th in Minnesota. It's like a big family reunion we have family comming from all over to meet there and fish and drink We're riding with my brother from Davenport to Minnesota. Anyway I thought maybe we could fly down to Nashville on the 16th and hang out for a while then just catch a flight to Minnesota early Sunday morning meet up with everyone and ride back home with them on the 24th. Sounds like the perfect plan doesn't it? There's a couple of thing that I can't quite figure out 1- If we did come we would have to bring lil Jacob he's only 2 yrs old, so we would have to have someone watch him because I wouldn't want him around all the smoke booze and drunk people as we all hung out. 2- MONEY! I've been trying to figure this out since Monday, Our flight tickets to go to Nashville and then to Minnesota will cost over $500.00 just for Angie and I, I'm not sure what they would charge for Jake, then we add the $75.00 per person for the convention, plus our hotel room for two nights $200.00 plus food and misc. that's like adding $900 to $1,000.00 to our already expensive vacation. I really really want to go, but I just don't think I can make it work, I would much rather blow off this fishing trip to be with you guys but that's not possible. Any Ideas, NORM You don't suppose they could change the date for little olde me LOL |

Just fly in Sat. am, and leave very late Sat. night. that eliminates the hotel, and if you need a place for the baby to nap with mom or something, you can use my room. That way you get to see everyone, and you can catch a red eye to sleep. I think 2 and under you don't have to pay for. Or it used to be that way and they changed it to pay for all kids.???? Better check on that. Something changed after 9-11. Anyway. About food....we will all be together. And we will all have food. And, like meds, we will all be glad to share. No big deal. Just use Nashville as a very long layover. Also, then you only have a babysitter for the day on Sat. Maybe the hotel has sitters. Anyway, you can use my room as home base for the day. Cause on line it is alway more expensive to fly one way and because you are acutally making 3 legs they might be able to get you a cheaper deal if you talk directly to them. Like deb said if you come in on a red eye sat morning and leave sat night you can sleep on the plane and then you dont have to worry about the hotel. just my thoughts. Wish we could come but there is just no way we can afford it. :( Tiannia |

Keep an eye out for the 2 for 1 deals. Maybe if an airlines has one between now & then someone will post. You can arrive Friday afternoon & leave on the redeye Saturday night. That's one night hotel instead of two. I'm sure there will be kids to babysit. There will be enough people there to cover that part. Last option: Find some of those homeless people out there and sell them a house. LOL :( |

What Hotel is most staying in. This plan would save at least one nights room charge, now if I could find better flight rates. Lord knows I'm gonna try.
