Title: CH free for over 24 hrs Post by Janzokris on Jan 15th, 2004, 3:01am Hey This is great I havent had a CH in over 24 hrs,(maybe I shouldnt say that) I guess I should be going and doing all those things I want to do but cant when I have a CH. As the CH I had started in November, it lasted 10 wks, thats shorter than the last one I took it lasted 6 months. Could it be because of the jabs I have now got. The only thing is I will be pain free when I go see neuro, but with all the knowledge I have at least I can explain to him properly what is going on in my head. A very happy Janet ;;D |

Title: Re: CH free for over 24 hrs Post by jmorgan52 on Jan 16th, 2004, 9:47am Good news Jan, as several guys predicted it would, your cycle seems to have ended or is near to ending anyway. Some advice/suggestions though, being as you have had such mean doctors as I recall who refuse you enough imigran. When you get to see that neuro don't tell him your cycle has ended just yet, so that when he pronounces you an "official" CH sufferer (like you need really him to confirm it >:( ) you can make sure you get some more imitrex ready for the next cycle which unfortunately may be only a year away (sorry :( ) Don't leave without a multiple repeat prescription for the injections. Keep pestering that doctor! He will probably happily let you get 2 a month once you explain how well it works for you. Experience on this board says that the injections last well beyond the stated expiry date. Keep refilling those prescriptions during the year so that you have a stockpile for next time around. Kep them in a cool dark place and they will keep just fine for years. Many of us do this. Sorry if this dampens your spirits a bit thinking about the next cycle, but better to be prepared to win the next fight without too much suffering. Good luck John |

Very good advise. Just in case the beast ever knocks again you will have a way to fight him and you wont have to struggle until you can get into see the doc again. As I know that appointments can be weeks out. I pray that you never have to use your stockpile, but it is better to be prepared. Tiannia PS - I am so very happy for you. :) :) :) |
