My bunny, Lenci, is being bred today. She should have had her last round by now. Breeder said she accepted her mate and everything went well. Yay!!!

P.S. Her mate is her dad. :o

Not completly when it comes to rabbits. Fathers can mate with the offspring, and the babies come out fine. Mothers can not. Not sure why but we used to breed them when I was younger.

The only reason she was bred with her father is because he was a national champion for best of breed. Lenci won 3rd place in nationals under junior doe. The only way the breeder could get show quality was to breed her with her dad. It's healthy. But it does sound gross.

I hope she's pregnant!

Lissa...I miss my bunny so much. He was just your average stray white bunny with black eyes. Someone must have dumped him after Easter one year. He was so sweet. He used to hump my arm! Then I got him a girlfriend who was a 4H bunny who could not breed. She was an American Fuzzy Lop, a beautiful fawn/red color. He loved her so much. They had babies! So I had to get him neutered. I had to leave them in California when I moved to NC. Butterball died before I moved, but Luckey was still alive last I knew. He was 7 yrs old, so he has probably passed by now. I will never forget him.

You can send me one of your babies if you want!!

Sound gross but it's the same way with cattle
cattle you can breed father to daughter but not granddaughter and never son / grandson to mother..or brother / sisters to each other.....
