Title: RIDDLE
Post by mynm156 on Oct 10th, 2004, 1:14pm
Three guys get a hotel room for the night.  The night manager charges them $30.   So each man pitches in $10 and then got to their room.  Soon afterwards the night manager relizes that he over charged them by $5.  He gives 5 dollars to the bellman to return to the men.  On the way the bellman thinks how are three guys gonna split $5?  So he keeps two dollars for himself and returns three dollars to the men.  This means that each man payed $9 for the room.  Well 3 X 9 =27 the bellman kept 2 =29 where did the other dollar?

so that's how the pyramid scheme ends up working out......lol  the missing dollar goes into the pot????

if 10 - 1 = 9 and

3 x 9 =27

and the bell boy only took two 2

= 29

IS the Earth still turnig clockwise????

As George Bush would say.."It's Fuzzy Math". There is no missing Dollar.

They Paid 10 dollars apiece but were only supposed to pay 8 dollars & 33 cents (approx.) They received 1 dollar apiece back & the remaining 67 cents X 3 people (approx.) 2 dollars went to the thief (I mean the bellman)

Its a mathematical anomaly guys.  As some of you have already figured out there are several different ways to achieve an answer.  Math is not ALWAYS exact.
