Hi All,
Have just been pretty much an observor lately (I
thought we were neary the end) but just wondering, my hubby says when his neck starts cracking when he get up in the morning, he knows it is going to be a bad day. Anyone else get this sympton?

We have had enough, 3 months and counting.

Hi Connie,

From the time my cycle starts, my neck cracks throughout the whole cycle. And when it is the most noticeable is when I get hit the most.

Hope your hubby's cycle is just about over.

Connie,

Over the last four years that I've been here, many people have reported neck involvement in some form. I get the crackling and tightening in the back of my neck - on my ch side. By the time the ch is "full blown" I can't even stand putting an ice pack on it - hurts too much, all the up to my eye and temple.

I'm convinced that it's the Trigeminal nerve bundle becoming inflamed.

Yeah...I don't get cracking, but I get a horribly stiff and painful neck during a hit. Complete with spasms that can actually turn my head. :-/

I just wanted to add that the cracking in my neck is NOT painful at all. It's just when I turn my head from side to side, I can hear a sound like bones cracking.

Hi Connie,

I don't get neck cracking. However, during and after a CH (my right side) my neck is very sore, including the eye. My eye is sore at times even closing or rubbing it is painful.

Hope your husband's cycle ends soon.

I have arthritis in my cervical spine from a car accident in 86 aggrivated by an assult in 98. My neck cracks and pops like a bowl of rice crispies, and sometimes I have to manipulate it to get it to "snap" and relieve the pressure. I do find that the tension that builds in the neck and shoulders while waiting for the hit gets worse, and I hurt like hell after the hit is over, aborted or not.

I have the same problem as my dear clusterbuddy red, same cause. Found out it's 5 crushed discs. When I turn my head it sounds like a cement mixer filled with gravel with all the crackling, grinding and other noises. No connection with CHs. If there were I would have them all the time.

Referred pain and muscular tension make my neck ache when I am in cycle. Chiropractic, heat and massage help with the neck symptoms but don't touch the headaches.

I has braces at the age of 23. Was refered to the orthodontist because of....(you guessed it didn't ya?)
suspected TMJ related sever left sided headaches....

You know I had TMJ after a car accident years ago, it went away with intense physio but sparked back up while in cycle..interesting..... :-/

Mine is constantly cracking and popping.

I just found out that I have arthritis in mine....

I tend to wonder if the prevalence in cervical spine arthritis is higher in CHer's due to the years of thrashing many of us have done?
