Title: This one's for the ladies
Post by sandie99 on Nov 16th, 2004, 5:25am
I was just wondering that have you noticed that does your ch behave differently during your periods?

Mine usually is behaving itself; just kip 1s or 2s, shadows or, gulps, nothing at all.  :)

Best wishes,

Hi Sandie

My migraines are definitely PMS and ovulation related, and I'm also certain that when I am in cycle, my CH attacks are much worse premenstrually and I can get a migraine attacks AND a CH attack on the same day.

Before I had a hysterectomy, my periods were never regular, and there was some speculation that my "migraines" were so "much more sever" because of this.  The attacks seemed to disipate some after the ex hubby moved out.  Not sure if it was lack of his stress, or the added stress of being a single Mom.  But they came back as usual after all was said and done with the divorce.

Saw no connection to my period before or after the hysterectomy.

Re. special needs of women. Both of these in HEADACHE QUARTERLY, Vol X, #2, 1991: "Women and headaches:a comprehensive approach", p. 31-36.  "Special considerations in the management of headache in women", p. 37-43. The last one focuses on role of hormones in headache and how medications must be altered.

I almost always get a migraine right before and during my period.  It's give or take if I get CH's along with it.  I don't think the CH is related but when I get Hit during my migraine, during my period, it almost always seems like a kip 9-10.  When I do end up in the ER its almost always during my period.  Wow did that make sense?

I really never connected to the hormone question---but come to think about it---my CH started when I was going thru the "change". Any opinion on that??
