Title: confused Post by Guido on Oct 6th, 2004, 9:54am Currently no meds for CH. getting Imitrex nasal today. Here’s my delima. Last night I wake up around 11:45 with about a K4 take 4 non-aspirin (cause that’s what we have). It goes to about a k7 I sit outside on the deck and breath deep and fast. It lasts about 45 minutes and poof gone. I go back to bed and at about 3:15 I wake up full-blown K8 and growing. I do the usual dance and moan. I go outside again and breathe in and out like a mad man. If I didn't have the ha I am sure I would have passed out with hipper ventilation. Then poof 45 minutes later the bastard is gone, I go back to bed. It is now 6:45; I am up because of the morning’s activity from the family and the new day. I still have what feels like a K3. I am confused because I don’t recall seeing this kind of headache behavior discussed. Has this happened to anyone here before? Guido |

Title: Re: confused Post by Guido on Oct 6th, 2004, 10:10am I guess the question is whether or not this sounds like CH or not. Before I would have an attack that had a begining and and end, not a fuckin lunch break and back at it 2 hours later...sorry for the language..but between stone walled at my clinic and this episode last night.. I am runnin on empty. Guido |

Title: Re: confused Post by karma on Oct 6th, 2004, 10:20am Getting woken up with it is classic CH. Some people get hit during the days only, some at nite only and some day and nite. It can also change patterns. Thomas is right about the melatonin for the nite hits. Its a nonscript suppliment that you can pick up at any pharmacy or in the vitamin section. usually 9 mg. an hour or so before you crash for the nite. Its not a guarantee but its pretty successful. |

Title: Re: confused Post by EmpressJMB on Oct 6th, 2004, 10:45am That's normal for me. When I'm in cycle, I get woken up every 1 1/2-2 hours. I've been told it's when I hit REM sleep. It's tough, I know. Hard to function during the day. Hope it gets better for you Guido. [smiley=hug.gif] PFDAN and vibes coming your way. Janet |

Title: Re: confused Post by ArCane on Oct 6th, 2004, 1:32pm It happens alot. There are some nights I get hit, recover, go back to bed, then an hour later have another. It continues on all night like that sometimes. After about the 3rd/4th time I get hit, I usually stay awake because of the fear of having another. Melatonin seems to help alot of people here. But when the Beast really wants your ass there is NO way of stoping the sob. Hope you get some sleep. PF vibes coming ur way. |

Title: Re: confused Post by yikes_another_one on Oct 7th, 2004, 4:16pm at 7am it's a k-4, 7:10 it's a k-6 by 7:20 it's time to dance by 7: 40 it's back to a k-5 by 8 am it's disappeared or just a shadow at 10:30 it's back to a 5 and at 11 time to go find a locker to bang head on 11:15 (restrain from digging eyeball out of head) 11:30 a manageable 6 by noon it's gone again around 4pm it hurts again by 6 I feel like I need to remove fire poker from back of head. by 9, pain recedes.... exhausted, climb into bed pray for sleep to release from nightmare. Midnight - what was that? did my head just say ow,ow,ow? Try to ignore it. SLide out of bed, push eye, veins, grab ice, sit two inches from air-conditioner, moan into a pillow so hubby can sleep winthin 10 -2 0 minutes pain vanishes crawl back, slink into bed, try to breath normally 7am eyes shoot open to find another kip 7 Um, each head ache lasted less than an hour, but each day for a week or more they come back same time, skipping times, but pretty regular. That's a cluster of headaches. Hence the "label" Welcome to hell on Earth. Sorry you became a member. but we have a free pass No tumor, no brain damage - that they have measured at least...lol.... so we are the lucky ones. Dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight... but not crossing over |
