Title: different patterns this time Post by mitChell on Sep 19th, 2004, 8:38pm Hi ppl , I havent had a CH in 4 days now :) Im not here to gloat about this, and I certainly aint complaining. But when I was suffering last time (4 years ago) I was getting hit most days - 2 or 3 times a day. I wake up once maybe twice a week now with a killer at 5am, and get hit hard at 2pm - but only during weekdays ??? To sum it up, they seem a lot less frequent this time around, (so far) I have no idea why, just glad I got some time to recover . Having said that, monday/tuesday for some reason seem to give me the strongest attacks and they can last up to 2 hours >:( Best go to bed now - dont wanna be unprepared for my 2 o'clock appointment tommorow ;) |

Title: Re: different patterns this time Post by floridian on Sep 20th, 2004, 8:58am You aren't the first person to mention a "weekend effect." Lots of people stay up late on weekends, which could disrupt sleep and melatonin. Also, relieving stress can make headaches worse in the short term - less adrenaline, less cortisone. In the long term, stress is a killer. In the short term, it may appear beneficial - like many addictive things. |

Title: Re: different patterns this time Post by Dunnie on Sep 20th, 2004, 9:16am I havent had a CH in 4 days now :) But when I was suffering last time (4 years ago) I was getting hit most days - 2 or 3 times a day. I wake up once maybe twice a week now with a killer at 5am, and get hit hard at 2pm - but only during weekdays ??? I have been in cycle for the last 71/2 weeks. Toward the end my atacks did almost exactly as you describeed. Does the pain now at times come from the front of your head as opposed to always on one side and behind the eye? What I dicovered this time was that my cycle was over, yours I think is only starting to end, but I was getting headaches of a different type. I thought that the CH were in the processes of changing sides because of the 3 to 4 days of remission. It turns out that the CH left me with a completly blocked sinus passage on the side of the CH. I starteds with antibiotics using an aersol type machine. The antibiotics I used are all from the Italian pharmacy so I don't think you can ge them in the US with a script. Anyway after three treatments of 15 minutes the my "strange" headaches stopped. Just wnted to pass along because the CH are real shitty. Wish you the best, Dunnie |

Enjoy your weekends man. ;) I think the beast is just so unpredictable. I think I got him figured out, then he turns around and hits me in a way he never has. I think he goes away, then he comes back harder than before. Its crazy. Casey |

Title: Re: different patterns this time Post by toolong on Sep 21st, 2004, 6:00pm I think change is just the mystery of the whole CH thing. It is why we can't come up with a "fix".I think I know the system and get myself ready for a killer then it will subside only to sneak up on me at an unexpected time.Keep the faith.David :-/ |
