Title: Re: Really Wierd Post by floridian on Sep 18th, 2004, 8:30am Most of my headaches start suddenly, while I am asleep. I don't remember what you describe for the headaches that started when I was awake. It might be "spread of reflex" - another example is when a person walks out into bright sunshine, they often sneeze. The squinting and increase in muscle and nerves around the eyes changes the balance of the body and the sneeze reflex is triggered. The gut has more serotonin than the brain, and serotonin is not quite right in a cluster attack. IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is a common disorder where nothing is wrong with the physical condition of the gut, but it is triggered too often (stress is a factor). The incredible pain and disruption of a cluster could set the bowels in motion in a person sensitive to that. It may be nothing serious, although you should check with a doctor to see if there might be something else going on. |
