I have had these headaches almost daily since i was in 4th grade several times a day! in fact they came so regular that my teachers in high school had me a desk in a dark spot in the class period that i usually catch them in 3rd period arond 10 am! I have had these things hinder me in every aspect of My life, im 34 years old and im very athletic and active i have 6 children and 1 on the way! I get so depressed cause i cant do the things i want to do , it kills me every time my kids want to play and my wife has to explain that "daddy is not feeling well", or if mommy is not there my 11 year old daughter becomes my comferter! I cant hold a steady job cause of these things but hey i did learn a trade "auto glass installation" so i can earn $$ in my pf time on my own ! I thank god 4 my wife even though she gets testy at times "U always have a attack when i want to do something!". I go to the headache wellness center here in Greensboro NC. They have helped me alot , just glad to have a doctor around who knows about this condition! So many years Ive been mis diagnosed with sinustis and a bunch of other crap!

Im just venting !!!!! But people really are insensitive about a "HEADACHE" only my close friends who have been unfortunate to be out with me and see it with there own eyes understand a lil! All the meds that they try out on u has had some really funny affects on me memory loss ! Imatrex injections work most of the time but who has $400 for 6 injections Injs only buys 6 a month!!!! They leave me drained after that I only take them when i hit a 8and above on th k scale 2costly!Oxygen is ok with keeping them down i go through about 3 tanks small a week $60 a week! Im about to see a shrink cause im really feeling down !!! Thanx 4 allowing me too VENT I know you guys understand!! Even though i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy!

You are really athletic and active! ;;D

Sorry you have to deal with the pain, but the community here is real supportive. Take a tour of the site and read up.

What kind of meds are you on? What has the doc said? Did he or she confirm cluster?

Ive taken or im taking verapimill,lodicane ,topamax, lithium, Indocen, oxygen therapy,Imatrex, predinsone :'(, Prednisone worked somewhat but side effcts were almost crippling!!! I also have a pitutary Disorder so I get real tired of docters! I actually went for almost 2 years of no attacks after having part of my pitutaty removed but they came back with a vengence Like 6 to 8 times a day full blast at first! Sleep is the worst Im lucky to get 4 to 6 hours with without waking up with 1 at full blast! That requires a imitrex injection!

I'm so sorry you're getting slammed. AND, you're right, insurance sucks (they think they are gods, imo). I know there are tips on breaking 1 imitrex injection into 3 (look at the imitrex tip on the left). As for the expense of o2, you may want to look into using welders o2, it may not be as expensive to get your bottles filled at a welding supply place. Just some ideas ...hope they help a little. You may also want to check out www.clusterbusters.com . . this site & treatement has been more than life saving for many people. *positive light and energy*
