Title: Absolutely Bizarre Post by Versilleus on Sep 11th, 2004, 5:20am A couple weeks back. I when out and ordered my favourite dish, sushi. I was re-assured that there was no MSG in my order. However, there was in the soy sauce. Needless to say I was a bit miffed considering I was in the worst cluster attack I have ever been in. The after they ended, 2 days later, I rarely get clusters at all. WtF? If I had known msg was going to do that for me it would have been the first thing I would've tried. Now I maybe get one a day. Nothing like they were before. Has anyone else had an experience like this? |

Title: Re: Absolutely Bizarre Post by Tom K on Sep 11th, 2004, 8:18am When I'm not in cycle, I can eat chocolate, nuts, drink beer or wine. But when I'm in cycle, those things are all big triggers to a CH. Looking back over my logs of 20+ years, any one of them has started a cycle. When I'm going into cycle season, I try to stay away from all my triggers, but it usually is impossible. My biggest trigger this cycle is light. We had to leave a resturant the other night because the light from the cars pulling into the parking lot set me off. It is so bad that if I have to go out a night, I wear sunglasses to drive. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I am just breaking a K9-10 that lasted about 2 hours, even after taking my Trex. |

Title: Re: Absolutely Bizarre Post by floridian on Sep 13th, 2004, 9:24am Ah, the joys of cheap soy sauce. The cheap stuff is made by boiling soybeans in acid, adding salt, MSG and caramel color. Kinda like adding grain alcohol to some sugar, artificial color and fruit flavor and calling it wine. Real soy sauce is made from soybeans, water, grain, salt, and the fermenting microorganisms. Unfortunately, even the naturally fermented soy sauce can be a trigger for some with migraines and clusters. |
