Hi all

I am going through a cluster right now and I didn't expect them to hit for another month.

Before they hit I was going to come back to this site and do some research on what other people use to combat these cluster headaches, unfortunatley I have run out of time and they are here now. (right this minute) so if my spelling is off that is the reason, I can barely look at my monitor.

So on that note I have to go and see my doctor this morning and I was wondering what is the most popular med that other people are taking for these clusters ??????????

Any advice would be greatly appreiciated .

Of course your Dr. will have to decide what is best for you. But Imitrex or Zomig are very popular and work well for most for the actual headache. There are also a number of Rx that work to stop or interupt the cycle...referred to as "calcium channel blockers" such as Verapimil or Cardizem. Some people also use certain steroids in combination with these drugs to knock out the cycle. Again your Dr. and you will have to decide.

Pred taper works for me to abort a cycle. in most cases it takes about 3 days for me to get relief.

Prednisone and inderal is what i take
