Several studies have been done on 2,4-D and the nervous system.  It can affect serotonin, dopamine, nmda-glutamate, and several other neurotransmitters.  It disrupts the immune system and affects cell membranes.  It's not clear how to transfer these studies from test tubes or animals to humans.  The best answer is that we don't know.

99% of the people with diseases that agent orange can trigger never set foot in Viet Nam.  According to VA, the 9 diseases that are known or presumed to be triggered include chloracne, Hodgkin's disease, multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, porphyria cutanea tarda, respiratory cancers (lung, bronchus, larynx and trachea), soft-tissue sarcoma, acute and subacute peripheral neuropathy and prostate,  Cluster headaches are not on that  list.

Over 3 million Americans served in the Indochina theatre, although fewer were exposed.  270,000 Vets are part of the agent orange registry.  Not sure how good the VA was at looking for and finding CH in the registry.

During my tour of Vietnam I was in areas that had been sprayed a year or so earlier but I had no direct contact with agent orange. My clusters started 6 years after I left Vietnam. In my case I do not believe agent orange had anything to do with it.
But, we have a clusterhead here in Vegas that has physical problems traced to agent orange. In his case I don't know.

My dad served in Vietnam too.  While I don't think that my CH has anything to do with Vietnam or Agent Orange, I do believe that this is all my dad's fault.  See, I look like my dad.  And people say to me: "If I had a head that looked like yours it would ache too!"

I knew it was his fault.

LMAO. There's our problem. We have heads like of fathers. We're all too ugly.  ::) Uglyness causes clusters.
I'm going to find a pretty man to adopt me.  ;;D
