Hi all,

From all the previous advise I have recieved here, I took it an ran with it slowly w/a ch that is. I saw a neuro today. I cant believe I am going to say this but I was upset when I got there and did not have a CH. It wasn't long there after in his office it started. The Dr ran out the room came back in and have me injection of Imitrex. wow that stuff is potent. After 5 minutes of some weird feeling all over the CH was down to a small shadow. Ok so I liked it. He gave me a prescription for 12 injections. Dr. also gave me shot of Lidocaine (sp) in the back of my head. Said that would help any tension headaches that might be occuring with my stress of all of this. He is trying me on Topamax. 25mg 1st week then up each week 25mg til 100mg then will see him in 2 weeksafter that. I am to continue 02 even though its only 8liters and nasal. ( I am working with GP to get mask and more liters). As long I catch CH w/in first 5 min 02 seems to work.
Thanks all here for your help. Today is only...... day 36 for me and a first timer here. So I am glad to have gotten this information from you all and that I was able to see a dr. here that could help me. I hope that I do not have a long road ahead with you all (sorry no offense) or with my dr. But if I am here for a while I know I will be in good hands.

I'll echo what e-double said, get a non-rebreather mask - 5 bucks at your local med supply shop. Even at just 8 lpm, it will still work better than the damn canola. Might hold you until you get the better regulator.

Try the "shot tip" to get more mileage out of your shots.

Be careful with Topamax. It is known around here as Dopeymax. If you have things that require 'thinking', you may end up impaired.

Ahhhh! The magic of Imitrex!

Ditto to all the above. Trex is my favorite, but can give you rebounds, so try getting a mask.

If you start feeling a little dopey on the Topomax, ask about Verapamil. Other than rather severe constipation, very few side effects.
