Title: how do feel after...... Post by prittyc on Aug 24th, 2004, 10:28am Hi all, How do you feel after a CH? I am newly diagnosed and on verapamil and 02. If the 02 doesnt abort and I have to go thru 45min -2 hours of the CH, when it goes away I feel so beat. I am so tired and worn out. I feel like a hangover with out the headache. My first feeling is glad to have the CH gone but then drag on for about another hour. Just wondering what everyone else is feeling. Christine in VA |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by crazy_mj on Aug 24th, 2004, 11:05am I know what you mean!!! I always feel like I have been beat up and ran over after an attack. I feel sorry for the people that have back to back clusters, they barely have enough time to reload for the next one. |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by lionsound on Aug 24th, 2004, 11:06am I feel that same way. Drains all my energy away. And then I sloth around for a while. (Is sloth a verb? Oh well, it is now) |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by Rock_Lobster on Aug 24th, 2004, 12:31pm I abort every one with a shot of Trex. I feel giddy when the Trex hits... like a wave of relief washing over me. Afterwords I feel just dandy. Check your calendar. It is 2004. There is no need to go through 2 hours of pain. (not counting the poor souls who cannot abort for whatever reason) |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by KanKan on Aug 24th, 2004, 11:14pm I actually have 2 reactions to it. If I have one during the day, once its over I feel pretty good actually, more of a relief that its over without thinking of the next attack. The night attacks tend to drag on, where I will sit in the dark after an attack, and every 10-30 seconds, ill have this slight pain behind my eye. |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by jmorgan52 on Aug 25th, 2004, 3:05am If I use imigran inj to abort a CH I feel pretty good afterwards. If I tough it out and the CH goes after a couple of hours I am often left with a shadowy hangover that can last for maybe another 4 hours until the next big one comes along. I'll take the 'trex anytime! |

If i felt this drained after sex, id probably be single still. Although the drained feeling would be great, if you were actually able to go to sleep afterwards, without yet another "Wake up call from our fiend" |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by gusher on Aug 26th, 2004, 4:14pm Christine, For me, I almost always have to take an Imitrex injection to rid myself of the retched beast and, after my head stops feeling like it's too heavy for my neck to hold it up, I'm almost giddy with a feeling of relief/victory/thank God for chemistry! Be well, Greg... |

That's assuming you have insurance that either covers enough injections to abort them all...or you are independantly wealthy and can buy all you want at nearly $200.00 for one days worth and that is breaking the 12 mg's down into thirds! That is a very couragous and misinformed statement to make. |

Title: Re: how do feel after...... Post by jmorgan52 on Aug 30th, 2004, 4:24am good point Redd! I have to pay for my own meds as my useless medical aid only pays for the "dire" life threatening stuff that requires hospitalisation. It is pretty good for that, so If I get a heart attack or cancer I'm covered, but for headaches I'm on my own! When I get in cycle I always use the injections, and now I split them into 2 or 3 because: a. I can't afford them, and they are damn expensive! b. even though I have to pay myself I still can't get enough meds to get me thru a cycle without splitting them. CH sucks! John |
