Title: frova Post by judo on Aug 11th, 2004, 6:12am i have not seen alot of info regarding frova and its not listed on the medication survey. Any feedback available? I have been on almost all abortives in the book which typically work for the short duration. Most recently I tried frova and it works for atleast 12 hrs for me during the peak of this cycle. God it feels good to get a full night of sleep w/o an alarm clock h/a. I have been living on samples from the nuero as its a bitch to get approved by my insurance. I also got samples of Amerge which is supposed to work similar or better than frova. Hope the info helps others and the pain stays away!!!!! |

Title: Re: frova Post by Margi on Aug 11th, 2004, 1:11pm Frova is one of the triptan family. I know it has been talked about here - I wonder if you could type in Frovatriptan to the search engine, if that would bring up any posts. I think the cool thing about Frova is that it has a longer half-life, meaning it will stay in your system longer and keep the beast at bay (theoretically). Careful mixing it with Amerge though, ok? Check with a pharamacist to see about interactions...(sometimes they are more current than docs about this stuff.) Actually, I have a drug interaction database bookmarked here: http://www.drugdigest.com/DD/Interaction/ChooseDrugs it says it should be ok to take both Frova and Amerge. |

Title: Re: frova Post by UN_SOLVED on Aug 11th, 2004, 2:52pm Mixing Tritpans is not a good thing and could lead to serious problems. I would ask a neuro about mixing these 2 drugs. You ARE 'double dipping'. I would think that it would be okay in small amounts, but those who need multiple doses in one day should NOT mix Triptans. Unsolved |
