Title: Strange happenings Post by don on Jun 25th, 2004, 6:11am I am now on the high dosage of the prednisone and not being hit..............but................I am still waking up during the usual vampire hours but minus the pain. Kinda nice to just roll over and go back to sleep though. Maybe I'll try the Melatonin to stay asleep. 2 days left at high dose prednisone then I am kicking up the veramamil to 600mg per day for the duration (at least) of the taper. We'll see what happens. News at 11. |

Good call but thats not it. No symptoms. I am in cycle but the attacks are not breaking through due to the prednisone dosage. I' going to give the Melatonin a shot. How long to become theraputic and at what dosage? |

Title: Re: Strange happenings Post by thomas on Jun 25th, 2004, 1:20pm Start with 3 mg and adjust according to how it affects your sleep pattern. If you are only sleeping for a couple of hours, throw some time-release melatonin into the mix. Sometimes when I am not sleeping well, I will take 3mg and 2X2mg of time release, that will get me about 6-8 hours. |

Title: Re: Strange happenings Post by Superpain on Jun 25th, 2004, 4:28pm Lower doses of melatonin make me restless. 18mg was my sweetspot in cycle. But I was getting hit like a machine gun at that time.... Once I started the pred I didn't need it anymore. |

Title: Re: Strange happenings Post by Kris_in_SJ on Jun 25th, 2004, 7:53pm I've had 7+ pf days now, but still waking up at the usual "witching hour." Prednisone can also disrupt your sleep patterns, but as you said .... My question ... have you found yourself cruising town to find a candy bar at 3 AM yet? Prednisone makes me ravenous!! Kris |
