Title: Woe Is Me Post by EndersG on Jun 12th, 2004, 9:09am Thank you for taking the time to read my tale of woe. I’ve been experiencing intense neck pain since about Oct 2003 after a one-time syncope (fainting) episode. I went to the ER and they performed a few tests. Seizure and low blood sugar were ruled out as possible causes. They even suspected I might have had a torn carotid artery but that was ruled out as well. However, this neck pain hasn’t gone away and now in subsequent months it’s evolved to intermittent headaches (ranging from mild to intense), facial numbness, arm and finger-tingling, pulsing sensation around my nose and sinuses and the like. All the pain seems to emanating from my left side. The perplexing part is that I’ve taken all conceivable diagnostic tests (MRIs, MRAs, X-rays, Carotid doppler) and seen ENTs, cardiologists, neurologists and the like and they’ve everything tests normal! I know this is a cluster headache support group but can anyone shed some light to what the possible problem might be. It’s very frustrating and I’ve been very depressed and scared lately that I might be missing something very serious. [smiley=huh.gif] Thank you in advance for your help. |

Title: Re: Woe Is Me Post by Prense on Jun 12th, 2004, 10:15am All those specialists, and no one has made a diagnosis? The numbness and tingling would have me alarmed. There are conditions that will not be necessarily detected by the tests you mentioned. MS is one example and is often detected by spinal tap. I hope that whatever is causing your symptoms is something easy to treat/cure. It does not sound like CH to me though based on your description. Regards! Chris |
