Title: Yet another oxygen question
Post by tannero on Jun 5th, 2004, 9:42am
I keep reading about the rebreather mask for the oxygen.  I guess I got it wrong a year ago.  I have a mask that covers my mouth and nose and I taped up the holes on the side so that I get only O2 when I use it.  I has worked well but if the rebreather will work better I will start my search for one.  In anyone's opinion is the rebreather the way to go above what I am using?  If I hadn't found this place, I would have never found out about using O2.  I trust the opinions here more than my neuro's.

The vast majority here say a rebreather mask is the ticket.  It works quite well for me, though I prefer another method.

I personally hate having a mask on my face during a rough CH... reminds me of the facehugger from Alien.  I stick the tube right in my mouth, controlling my respiration in such a way that I have zero wasted o2.  One or two others here do the same.

tannero,
Check out the Oxygen Info link http://www.headachesupportgroups.com/oxygen/oxygen.htm. There's a picture of a non-rebreather mask on there.
You should be able to get one from your o2 supplier or any medical supply dealer. I've also seen people on here finding them on e-bay.
