Title: at home oxygen set up
Post by rocky on May 31st, 2004, 3:00pm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hi guys , rather than pay my local medi-gas supplier a monthly rate[approx. $30-40/mo for an e tank and regulator i want to look at the option of buying a tank[welding or medical and a medical regulator to set up as a permanent home installation that i can use as required for the future. medigas said they would pick up my rental when i'm over my cycle but they would not do this on a regular basis if my CH kept coming back every few mos.]
they are obviosly in bussines to rent the equip. on a long term basis wether you need it or not. WHAT FOLLOWS  is a copy of the email i sent to johnny in the o2 links on CH.com and i'm looking for as much help as i can get. -----  "hi, i got your address on the ouch site and i'm hoping you could briefly educate me on a few things re o2 tanks and regulators. i'm a 2nd cycle clusterhead from ontario canada and i have to do something and get ready for my next cycle.
i have just rec'd the precription for o2 from my doctor and the local medi-gas outlet is now set up to rent me a months worth of o2 to se if it will help me.[i'll use up to 15l/m with a non rebreather mask]
if it does work for me i want to do something other than the monthly rental [i don't want to pay monthly for something that i may only need for 1 or 2 cycles /yr.
i'm hoping to buy either a medical or welding cylinder and a medical regulator and set up my own permanent system for future use as needed[maybe for the rest of my life]
quetion? will any good quality medical regulator fit any size new welding tank with the correct modifications ie.- 1/4' npt and a 540s? connector.
any ideas where i could look to buy a tank amd med. regulator[i've seen them on ebay] and what do i have to be carefull to avoid. i would want to buy a larger than e type tank as they would only last for 7 or 8 headaches.
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance, rocky"
