Title: seem to be experiencing a setback
Post by rbmb on May 18th, 2004, 6:11pm
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I saw my neuro last week and he advised upping topomax dose to 100mg and to start taking melatonin. Did that the same night and the following night and have had the worst series of HAs ever since that I can recall. I've been getting 3 or 4 HAs in a row every night between 9 and 3, at least one of which is a kip 8 or 9. Friday night in particular I was really in agony.....both eyes were watering so it getting hard to see, my hands were starting to shake. Sorry to sound like such a whinner here folks.......I've gotten used to one HA a night but being woken up 3 or 4 times after just getting over one starts to wear on a person
I think it must just be coincidence that the HAs got worse after taking the melatonin....I only took one 3 mg pill one night and one the next along with the topomax (unless there was some sort of interaction going on there). Anyway, I gave up on the melatonin for now.

Rich,

Topomax did nothing for me.  Melatonin ramped me up to 6-7 hits a night.  I know it has helped others tremendously, but there are a few that it just whacks them.  You might be one of the unlucky ones.

Tracey,
Thanks for the info......something definitely happened and it wasn't good.
