Post by J.ten_Dam on Mar 1st, 2004, 10:37am
who can give me another name for Lamotrigine?
[smiley=laugh.gif]CCH much better with Indometacine and verampamiel but I think I am being hit by SUNCT. It definitly is not CPH which I also get episodically.I read that Lamotrigine is a good medication. Am due at neuro in April.

Here's some information I found on the internet:

Dispensing errors have occurred between LAMICTAL and other medications, most commonly Lamisil®,* lamivudine, Ludiomil®,* labetalol, and Lomotil®.* Patients who do not receive LAMICTAL would be inadequately treated and could experience serious consequences. Conversely, patients erroneously receiving LAMICTAL, especially high initial doses, would be unnecessarily subjected to a risk of serious side effects.

*Lamisil (terbinafine HCl tablets) and Ludiomil (maprotiline HCl) are registered trademarks of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Lomotil (diphenoxylate HCl, atropine sulfate) is a registered trademark of G.D. Searle & Co.

[smiley=laugh.gif] after having seearched in many ways I come to the conclusion that it is the same as Depakine, Convulex, Propymal. Which I have tryed in the past for CCH and it had no effect there.
I read at OUCH that verampamiel kan worsen Sunct so what to do stop verampamiel to see if things become better with the risck of worsening the CH? I will go and see my GP tomorrow and see what we can come up with as the best sollution. Thanks for the help
