Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by BobG on Feb 23rd, 2004, 2:21am Yes, most indicators say we will out grow them. But at what age? I don't think anyone knows. We have some clusterheads in their 60's. I'm 57 and still get them but they are no way near as bad or as often as 10 years ago. |

I used to drive a truck...till that one eye finally closed and I just couldn't function. Fucking shit hurts! I wish you pain free times.... Mark |

Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by sandie99 on Feb 23rd, 2004, 4:39am Renny, my teacher, who used to suffer from CH, said that hers stopped in her 40s. But, my neuro said, that he has patients from 9-70, so who knows? I certainly don't plan to live with CH for next 50 years!!! best wishes & loads of PFdays, sandie99 |

Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by Carolyn on Feb 23rd, 2004, 1:58pm I am 55 and they are still definitely around. Can't say the intensity is any less, but they are a lot less frequent....went from 1 to 2 episodes a year to 1 every 2 years now. Only thing that doesn't change is that I can continue to add failed medicines to my list. |

Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by Bob_Johnson on Feb 23rd, 2004, 2:59pm I just turned 68 and haven't had an attack in 2-yrs. Looking over the log I've kept, it's clear that cycles have been shorter and farther apart during the last 10-years. Of course, all that you get from losing your clusters is space to be filled with all the other middle-age maladies. |

Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by don on Feb 23rd, 2004, 5:14pm Hopefully I will be an ongoing case study. I have had CH now for 27 or 28 years. The last three years are the only years I have not gone into a cycle. I have still gotten occasional shadows and an occasional Kip 5 but thats a hell of a lot better than 4-6 month cycles of 4-6 Kip 9s a day every day of the cycle. |

Title: Re: are they supposed to go away Post by Janice on Feb 24th, 2004, 2:16pm I aksed my Neuro the same question...."will I outgrow them?" He told me that as a person gets older the CH's become worse, and that one cannot outgrow them. He is said to be the best in our area for Neuro stuff. His comment made my day! Lord help us all!
