My son, Stephen just found out that he is suppose to come home Jan. 12th...He was deployed last March and has been away from his 20 month old son and wife ...He was told that he would be home for a few weeks or a month and possibly receive new papers sending him to Iraq but I refuse to believe that part....I BELIEVE MY SON is Coming home for GOOD!  And My prayer is that everyone's children gets to come home ! BTW, my adopted soldier was in the troop that caught the Scumbag the other day...I was so proud of him!  Ree, Your kids are in my prayers.....I believe in the power of prayer and plan to keep right on praying until all of our kids are home safe and sound where they belong!  :)nancyc

What wonderful news!  Congratulations!

Give Stephen a big hug and a thank you from me for his job of keeping us safe.

How did you get in touch with your adopted soldier?

I sent 49 lbs. worth of great stuff to my adopted soldier that should arrive prior to Christmas Day, hopefully as I shipped it out on the last day available that we were given for the gifts to arrive prior to Christmas.

I've not heard from my soldier and do not know if he is even aware that someone adopted him.  I do know he has lots to go around with his buddies.

Gave our adopted soldiers our e-mail addy, as well....we each adopted one.....and they all hail from Portland....sure would like to meet them all and shake their hands........read....give em HUGGE hugs one day really soon!

Jonny, we specifically got ours from the Reserves unit that was called up out of Portland.....I guess I am assuming it worked :-/....

Hope to find out......now I am a bit worried.....

Thanks everyone...I am so excited about Stephen coming home...He keeps telling me not to get my hopes up as things dont look that good...but I have connections greater than George Bush  ;;D...My connections go Straight UP!  And They will keep going up till all our kids are home for good...and my flag and yellow ribbon will stay on my car and front door till all our kids are home for good....and I will never give up HOPE that this war will be over SOON!   Hope is what a mother clings to with their children.....Anyway, I have not heard from my adopted soldier yet..i just know that he was in the troop that captured the ole Scumbag cause I checked his address out on the army website and found out what troop he was with...LOL...did alittle detective work ...this kid has been adopted and you know how snoopy mothers are  ;;D.... :)nancyc  PS If I am offline alot it is because I am spending the holidays with my family and working overtime at work to pay for Tristan's Santa from Grammy LOL.  I miss you all and hope you have a Merry Christmas...will be checking in!

Patrick, Stephen will be here for Christmas too...they are giving him a 10 day pass so we will have him at Christmas too!  He is already here! We are truly blessed!  Do any of you have a really good cheesecake recipe as he loves cheesecake and I dont have one? I am desperate LOL...Thank God, this mb can rescue you on everything  ;;D...nancyc
