Title: What does'nt kill us makes us stronger Post by 5-string on Dec 16th, 2003, 7:28pm Last week after the snowfall I was leaving work and slipped on the concrete steps and slamed full force on the corner of one steps, right on my back. Lay there for a minute,going"aaaaoooh....shiiiiiit. then slowly get up,limp gingerly to my truck and drive home. The next day I was sore but"walked it off" I hav'nt missed any work and my job involves working on and moving/lifting motorcycles that way 500-1,000 lbs. and my wieght- 120lbs. I found out today I have a broken rib. B.F.D. My point is........Experiencing these 24 hour a freakin day shadows and full on attacks all summer long have conditioned me to not let something so "painless"and trivial as a broken rib to slow my stupid ass down a bit. We are survivers, are we not?.. seeyaa, ..Mark.. |

Title: Re: What does'nt kill us makes us stronger Post by fubar on Dec 17th, 2003, 1:40am Last year I was in Paris on a business trip. I had an early flight home, so I got up around 4am and got in the shower, which was one of those claw-foot tubs, not really great for a shower. I had a nice instant Kip10 in the shower and lost my balance. I slip hard, and hit the marble counter full force right in the chest. Not only did I break 3 ribs, I had to get on a flight from Paris to San Francisco, in coach. I knew the ribs were broken, hell they were practically floating. The xray at home confirmed it, but I only got the xray because my doc wanted to make sure I wasn't going to puncture a lung. That happened almost exactly 12 months ago and I still feel it, but I never even thought about that pain in the same category of CH. I must say though, broken ribs rank somewhere up there. I broke them by landing on my front, but the worst pain was (and still is) where those ribs connect to my spine. |

Title: Re: What does'nt kill us makes us stronger Post by thomas on Dec 17th, 2003, 2:25pm Anything less than ch is livable - at least that's been my experience. The only positive is the high pain tolerance. |

Title: Re: What does'nt kill us makes us stronger Post by Paigelle on Dec 17th, 2003, 3:10pm I am not so sure the high pain tolerance is a good thing. We could really have something terribly wrong and neglect it because of our tolerance. You know what I mean? |

Title: Re: What does'nt kill us makes us stronger Post by River_Rat on Dec 17th, 2003, 3:28pm I've had broken ribs and they suck!! everytime you laugh or sneeze OUCH!! I've had a broken femur, collar bone, sternam and a few other things but at least with these and most other things you can find a way to get somewhat comfertable. I haven't figured out a way yet with a CH. LEE |
