Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by Lori on Dec 13th, 2003, 1:16am No..but my whole family got flu shots this year for the first time. I don't know why I decided to make us all get it, I just did. Then I hear it's going to be the worst flu season ever, so glad I was led to get the shot. I feel more protected than I would have. |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by catlind on Dec 13th, 2003, 4:00am So far no one here has had it, but my Mom and Grandmother both got it, and my grandmother got it bad enough that it resulted in a heart attack. So now she is fighting the flu and recovery. For an 85 year old, that woman has as much fight as a clusterhead. I hope I am that tough when I'm that old. Cat |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by pubgirl on Dec 13th, 2003, 6:14am Cat Good for your Gran! (do you share her genes?) Your flu epidemic has even hit our News programmes here so it must be bad. We were warned we were going to get one, but, touch wood, it hasn't really hit as predicted (although sadly a few cases of old people and small children succumbing) Wendy |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by RichardN on Dec 13th, 2003, 7:17am Here in Crossville, Tn., our hospital is overflowing with flu/pneumonia patients. One of my wives co-workers went to the emergency room this week (not flu related) and they were handig out masks to everyone entering the building...............and we're just really getting into the flu season. I also got a flu shot for the first time this year. Of course, we've also heard that the flu vaccine that they're issuing is not the type that's so virulent..?...who knows? |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by jadedgazer on Dec 13th, 2003, 8:32am We haven't been touched, thank goodness. I tried to get my kids vaccinated and they were out two weeks ago. I cannot get a flu shot, allergic. They won't let Mike (hubby) get one because of the MS and something to do with his immune system. So we are just trying to stay clear and trying to get the kids thru school until Christmas vaccation. There have been many cases here, bad cases but noone has died to my knowledge. My little 7 year old neice is very ill right now with it. Any prayers you feel like sending would be appreciated as it has gone to her lungs. Her name is Sara. Keep well everyone. |

I got a apointment today at 2:00! This sucks cause I can't get around my mom and dad sick, they really need me. Plus you know JD, Buddy and Deveny will get it. Oh top of that I am in cycle. Maybe they will both be gone by Christmas :-)! Looking on the bright side of things, I can rest for a few days ;-)! |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by CHmess on Dec 13th, 2003, 10:18am I hope you don't get it Ree! My 7 year old brought it home from school 2 weeks ago and its still hangin on(mainly just coughs and sniffles now). Two days later, she gave it to my 3 year old. My husband came down with it right after that and since he refuses to stop working for anything he got REAL sick so he was in bed all last week. I was in my CH cycle at the same time so the last couple of weeks were pretty harsh around this house!! Finally starting to look up though! I'm tired though! :P |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by Charlie on Dec 13th, 2003, 4:19pm I was so sick in October that I'm wondering if it wasn't the flu. I wasn't nauseous but I haven't been that uncomfortable with a high fever since 1974. It may have been a strain. I read that most of the poor kids who died also had other chronic stuff like asthma or were diabetic, etc. but what a horror. Be careful kids and don't bite yer nails. Charlie |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by Mark C on Dec 14th, 2003, 12:08am No real Influenza...yet...but my whole house is recovering from a rather nasty cold that I am sure was spread when my four year old Daughter was helping Mom make Deviled Eggs for Thanksgiving. While she was stirring up the stuff in the bowl she sneezed something terrible....right onto the Deviled Eggs. :P I should have taken my eight years old Son's advice when he said "Well...I ain't eatin' none of THAT!" Sniffle.... http://www.drfeller.com/Mark/mark.gif PS-Hey Richard N.....holler at me....we are neighbors! |

Hey Mikeyd, I hear you. I don't know if it would be the same for the DHE, but what I have done with great results is to use the Trex NS under my tongue. Actually I have a related question for all, when you have a stuffy nose due to a cold/allergies, whatever, is it mostly on the CH side? Mine is, totally sucks. Ozzy |

Title: Re: Has anyone come down with the flu yet? Post by Paigelle on Dec 15th, 2003, 11:49am No one in my house has had the flu yet. But the hospitals here are also giving out masks when you go in. I am avoiding all medical facilities at this time, hopefully that will keep us safe from it. However, one time I got the flu while I was in cycle and the flu broke my cycle. But I don't want to be sick. |
