Based on an estimated membership roster of 1200 members.

8.8 % have signed on to the new business board.

6.5 % have voted.

2.3% of those signed on have not voted.

(You can check my math, I could be off)

A cure or even dignified treatment will be a long time coming if this is the response researchers get.

Seriously, what is the problem? I don't get it? How hard is it to click on the OUCH Website link on the left...then click on the "Join OUCH" in the toolbar. After that, go to Members Corner, click on New Business Boards. I think then you will have to register again for these boards..you'll get an email or something confirming your user id and password, then you go back to the new Business boards and vote! If anyone has trouble with any part of this, post here and ask for help. Someone will help you get through the process. This is free, will not cost you to do..so what are you waiting for if you suffer from clusters..we all need to do our part so we can have a cure someday!

Well...........I am of the opinion...that the ones of us that post here on a regular basis......
are the only ones that have voted.

Let's face it.....you say 1200 members.   I think only about 100 of those are active.  If that many!  I clicked on the members tab at the top....the majority of the so called "members" have NEVER even posted.

A mathematician, I ain't...........but the facts are there.

What a shame!

since yer over here belly achin ....I'll ask it here.

Are you really surprised? I don't take you for being that naive.

Have all the "members" been e-mailed?

We all know these high numbers are screwy. There are 5400 registered at this site. It means very little. Even the # of times a post is read increases exponentially...Jonny and Kim click their own posts over and over cause they can't remember what they wrote.

The lack of response to politics doesn't surprise me. I'm very surprised I voted....

what continues to confound me is the traffic flow....what happens to the TRUE Clusterheads? If they don't need OUCH or this site...what do they know that we don't? It's hard to accept that they are "cured" and don't share it or just resigned to suffering this exquisite pain and have given up on helping themselves....They are simply in my prayers.
I accept it...I just don't "get it"....of course...I'm still wondering about why men have nipples also.

Good grief

All members of the OUCH databased have been emailed.

Surprised? No.     Baffled? Yes.

Don't know about the others, Don......but I'm still waiting for Notification via the OUCH Emergency EMail Network..........not that it matters.
I already played at the voting pit.

It's just like everything; we're a cross section of society - look at all of our gov't elections - no turn out.  It's really too bad. >:(

I got my email.  Deleted it after I went in and voted, but it siad that the voting polls where open and to please log into the OUCH site and vote.  It came about 2 weeks ago I think.

I do believe that many people are members to the board because they think that there is different information here then what it is.  People log in and register so that they can see all of the boards, becuase many boards hide stuff until you register.  But then they never come back.  Personally, if someone has not logged in for aver 60 days then they should be deleted, but that is just my opintion.  (30 days honestly but some people have extenuating cerumtances that might keep them out 2 months)  That would give you a better idea of how many active people you have.

The e-mail went out to 1200+ members.

When the e-mail service was set up at OUCH a couple of months ago, all members and the e-mail address they gave when they joined were entered into the database.  If you joined since it was set up, you would had to of clicked the e-mail link in the members corner and added yourself.

If your e-mail has changed since you joined and you haven't clicked on the password lookup / maint link and changed your e-mail, then it's no wonder you don't get the e-mails.

Hello fellow clusterheads & supporters,

A couple of items we thought you should know about.

Firstly, thanks to DJ's hard work, our web site has a new "Business Board". This is a message board where the business of OUCH will be conducted and you, as a member, can have a say in where you would like the Organization to go in the future. The board can be found at:

http://www.clusterheadaches.org/members/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi

When you first visit the board you will be asked to register. A password will be sent to your e-mail address. You can then logon using this password and, via the "profile" link, change your password to anything you would like.

Secondly, elections of OUCH Officers and Board of Directors members for 2004-2005 are currently underway. The various voting threads will be found on the new Business Board. Read the "Instructions" thread and cast your ballot. Voting will continue until midnight, November 30, 2003.

That's it for now. Hope you are all winning the fight!

Voting is not the only reason we need you all. We need people who would like to volunteer your ideas your thoughts on things. We all hurt from the same pain.
Suporters and clusterheads. If we work together as a team we can make people listen. I love ch.com and all the support and stuff here. No one will ever understand our pain like we do, but we got to make people listen we got to get some help. We can do it by joining OUCH.
I hate politics so much I can't spell it LOL, BUT I will do what it takes to get someone to listen. We got to educate the public.
Come on join O.U.C.H. If you are already a member pich in even if its a idea or something. :-)

poli- derived from the latin word poly, meaning many.  Tics - blood sucking creatures.  lol.  I agree with you 100% Elaine.  We do need to be actively involved in ouch.  I've just recently come to realize this and am willing to do whatever I can to help out.

I've tried to vote ... every time I tried to login it said my username didn't exist ... phooey, well, I'll try again later.  [smiley=huh.gif]

... D'oh!! Just found DJ's message that you have to re-register for the new OUCH board before you can get in ... that may explain some of the low voter turn out.
