Title: E-MAIL TARGET: Senate Chairman Post by SommelierCH on Nov 13th, 2003, 6:52am I’m back from DSL hell. AGAIN! Our E-MAIL TARGET is: http://hollings.senate.gov/images/banner.jpg Senate Commerce Committee Chairman and Member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education I really know nothing about this guy, but the Insurance Industry is against him and he's fighting them, so he’s OK in my book!!! From The Insurance Journal: “A proposal by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Fritz Hollings (D-S.C.) to repeal the McCarran-Ferguson antitrust exemption and create a new Federal Insurance Commission within the Commerce Department was strongly criticized by the National Association of Independent Insurers (NAII).” http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/newswire/national/2003/07/15/30658.htm Statement of Senator Ernest F. Hollings Hearing on Federal Involvement in the Regulation of the Insurance Industry October 22, 2003 http://www.senate.gov/~hollings/statements/2003A22655.html FOR THIS E-MAIL TARGET: Let’s all use the same Subject Title, if they see 30 emails from different people with the same Subject, it would cut down on us getting lost in the shuffle. Let’s use “We suffer from SUICIDE HEADACHES”, I think that this encompasses the Supporters and the ClusterHeads, plus if they get 30 of these, it should get their attention. This time let’s give links to our info pages, instead of just (but still) telling our stories. Also, give them links to great threads, especially those centered around INSURANCE; such as the hassles of just getting something as cheap and as effective as O2 and a non-rebreather mask from our insurance companies!!! Who, out of all of them, would ever believe that there is an “underground railroad” for O2 welding tanks and regulators, so that we can find some relief, on our own, from the most excruciating pain known to humans? My first and continuing goal is to get ClusterHeadaches declared a “DISEASE”. What are we now…a “syndrome”? They can’t make money off a “syndrome”. But a “DISEASE” gets Federal research grants, gets federal job protection, gets insurance mandates and this is the easiest way for us to row towards our goal: To Find A Cure! When Alcoholism was declared a disease several years ago, the money flowed, drunk’s jobs were protected (Disclaimer: I drink for a living), and the insurance companies had to cover it!! Can you say "30 days R&R at Betty Ford" with your job waiting for you when you get back? Here is Senator Hollings email. It says that he will only respond if you are from SC, but what the fuck? We have to start somewhere. We are laying a foundation of awareness. http://www.senate.gov/~hollings/contact/Webform.cfm Fight the Good Fight, post back here if you sent an email. David J. |

Title: Re: E-MAIL TARGET: Senate Chairman Post by Charlie on Nov 13th, 2003, 9:35pm We'll do our best but Fritz, a damn good Senator, is soon to retire and of course one has to wonder what a retiring Democrat in Bill Frist's Senate can do. "Fritz-Frist" I know. Bill Frist, Majority Leader, by the way is also an MD. Too bad he spends all his time making sure he remians Majority Leader. Don't count on him. So far, he's not been very receptive to anyone not a neo-con. He's a strange bird. It's gonna be tough. MOC |
