Title: Granny got Run Over.......
Post by BarbaraD on Nov 1st, 2003, 11:22am
As the witching hour came upon us.... Granny and Papaw drove up in Superman's drive way. The neighborhood was all abustle (is that word?) with activity - madigras floats, blow up thingys like they have at McDonals for the kids  to jump in, bonfires, gumbo cooking (did I mention we were in Louisanna?) Those darn CAJONES know how to throw a Halloween party!

Well, the clown and the "old man" rescued Superman (grandson) from idiot parents and the Trick 'r Treating commenced. The old man stayed at the house to give out Treats while Granny and Superman scoured the neighborhood looking for Tricks. Picked up a few goblins and goulds on the way and had a great time meeting all the neighbors.

Ended up back at the "party yard" and had a gumbo feast. They kept passing out wonderful little cups of "jello"  - no carbs at all.... they didn't mention the VODKA AND RUM!

Superman got tired and Granny did too, so we sat down by the bonfire to rock and just listen to the music for a while. Then out of the SKY came a flying missle.... a HICKORY NUT - SPLAT - Granny got it right in the old eyeball  (the good one - not the CH one!) Seems some more adventuresome children had climbed upon the madigras float and begun throwing hickery nuts at goblins and got Granny mixed up for one of them.

Close to midnight Granny wandered off to the idiot kids house with a sleeping Superman in her arms, laid down on the couch to rest her eyes just a moment and woke up at 5 this morning with a BIG SHINNER. All in all it was a GREAT Halloween... Hope everyone has as good a one as Granny did....

But Granny's home now and thinks she needs REST!!!!!

Hugs BD
