Title: OUCHFest Raffle and attendance??? Who is coming? Post by Carl_D on Oct 30th, 2003, 3:53am RAFFLES! I am still soliciting donations for raffle items for OUCHFest. The sad part is, I only have 2 items. Someone has donated a Hoover vaccuum cleaner, and another person has pledged a DVD player. That is all I have for now. I am really bummed that no one else has come forward with any other offers. I want the whole pot of money from raffles to go to OUCH, but if I have to, at the last minute, if I only have 2 items to raffle, then make them the 2 runner up prizes, and then the end of the night jackpot to be 1/2 of the raffle ticket sales. I'll have to do something like that to make people WANT to buy raffle tickets. Nobody will spend money on anything unless they feel there is a good possible payoff. I am doing everything in my power to make OUCHfest a successful event. If it is a bust, at least we tried, but I do know that we'll get a good attendance, and at $5 a head, that should be pretty decent. Hell, even if it is only a few hundred dollars I'll be happy. If it goes further than that I will be ecstatic. I don't care, just as long as we have SOMETHING to give to OUCH. OUCH operates soley on donations from its supporters. I am an OUCH member, but as Paul and Peter once said "Silver and gold have I none, but what I do have I will give." So for me to donate is a laugh, as I am the poorest person I know; just ask my bandmates and family. The only things I have to give is my time and talent, hence the idea behind OUCHFest. I*f it is a success, then look for a new version 2.0 next year. ATTENDANCE!!!!! All of us in the band have alot of friends and acquaintances who will definitely be there to see our band tear up the stage, as some have seen our rehearsals, and we have already got a small fanbase started that is slowly growing. I want to know who from CH.Com is planning to attend, as I am trying to get a headcount of Clusterheads in attendance at the event. i am also going to email OUCH this morning to see if anyone from the BoD's is going to be at the event. I am hoping so. They can oversee the event, and I will have someone to hand a check to. The more clusterheads that come the better! I already know that JDH will be here, as well as River Rat. Jonny SAID "I'm so there it's stupid" but as I recall later recanted citing financial issues. DJ might come, depending on whether or not he is detained by his duties. So far, that is the only ones I know of who plan to attend the event. It's funny. There are some people coming to see us who want to see 'the guy that makes wierd faces when he sings." I like to run around alot onstage, but when I am singing - sometimes hitting certain notes and screams makes my head POUND and feel like lightning is striking it. Performing hurts my head bad, but slowly I have got used to it. In the event I go into a CH attack onstage, I am just gonna rip a guitar solo until I can't take anymore and have to leave the stage, and the our drummer will do a drum solo from HELL! He is very very good, and can rip on the drums. The other day he went crazy behind the set, and for fun I was in the next room timing him. He went berzerk for almost 40 minutes! I hope like hell I don't get hit onstage, and as a percautionary measure, I have a few Imitrex tabs I have been holding onto, since they don't hit as fast as the injections; I am gonna take a Trex tab before I go onstage to try and prevent it. I could care less if I get hit before or after we play, as long as I can survive the event. Clusters have ruined me in the past, but I am fighting hard and mad to try and prevent history from repeating itself. For instance, I am 'supposed' to be at home resting and going to physical therapy tomorrow, but instead I came to the studio for rehearsal tonight and will be here through the weekend, as we are working on tracks for the new album, and preparing for upcoming gigs. Our halloween show got cancelled due to the place being too small to hold a band, but we are doing a show Saturday at a club in my hometown, and the way we sounded tonight during rehearsal - people are gonna freak when they hear us. If anyone else is interested in coming to OUCHfest and needs to make reservations, let me know and I will re-post the two nearest hotels. OUCHFest '03 is Sunday Dec 7th at City Limits in Alton, IL. There are 5 acts performing, and cost of admission is $5.00. Pack a bag, grab your Trex and check it out. Once my band "Act of God" hits the stage, we are gonna blow some minds!
