I got excellent news from my OKie bud last night....
He has finally! gone to a new neuro. Get this - the doc actually apologized for interrupting him as he was talking about his CH's and sat down and waited until he was finished. HE actually listened, his former doc never let him get a word in edgwise.

Then, he upped his Verap (after over a year of trying that with his former, now "FIRED" doc) to a reasonable dose, chatted with him for a while about clusters, etc..and made him feel comfortable. It was an "amazing experience" in his words, and to hear the joy in his voice, well, that was priceless. He sounded happy for the first time in a very long time.

Let me explain. I believe it was his meetings with all the clusterhead folks from here in Oklahoma, and one special person who took the time to be a friend that got to him. I will tell you that is worth its weight in GOLD.
Thanks to KOP (Steve, YOU are the clusterangel man), SueEllen (honey, your doc is the bomb thanks so much on C's behalf!!), Forgetfulnot, Cindra... hm, I hope I'm not leaving anyone out... thanks to you all for whatever you all said or did. Its hard to trust folks you don't know and it took a lot of doing, but this is definitely the start of a good thing.

To repeat what others have said... DJ... this website and the people on it, have made such a difference -

Its always great when someone finds a doc that will listen instead of dictating the situation.

Hoping that your friend has a LOT of luck with the new dosage and a long and 'productive' relationship with his new neuro

I love it when I see clusterbuds band together, share their knowledge, and just listen to the painful stories from others. Just sharing can change a life !!!!!!!! Keep up the good work OK team !!!!!
