I been having this headache since Friday. It just hurts on the very top of my head feels like the top of my head is coming off. The worst part is my head is numb in the back and on the sides and down my neck.
I been having these durning the day and clusters at night. I am losing my sence of humor about it all. I am breaking down and calling my doctor tomorrow!
Has anyone heard of a headache like this? I have tried all kinds of over the counter stuff. I tried imitrex but it only takes it away for like 20 minutes then its right back. The numbness is staying even when the headache is gone. I been looking on the net but I don't seen to beable to find any thing.

IMHO, get your arse to the hospital gal. Dont wait for the docs tom. go now. Never heard of such a thing. So GO NOW!!!

Sounds like you've pinched a nerve in your neck. Made any sudden movements lately? Been in a car wreck?
Fallen out of a tree? Horse throw'd ya?

Please go see the doc as soon as possible.

Stroke???

Maybe I am oversensitive right now cause I just got home from seeing a Neuro with my wife who has been having several light strokes in the last few months. Part of yours sounds similar. BTW, my wife is only 48. It can happen anytime, and with the meds a lot of us use I'm surprised more of US don't have them.

I don't know what it is but it doesn't sound good. Please don't wait and get to a dr. asap please. Were praying for ya also. Let us know how you are doing.

Elaine,
Dont wait for any of us to tell you what we think it is. That will drive you crazy for sure.
I say make the ER drs work for their money and pay them a visit.
I'm sitting here myself with this pain down my arm and into my chest waiting to see if advils kick in before I start panicing myself.

I know Bob, thought about that myself but the Advils seem to be taking the edge off it so I'll just continue to sit here smoking my brains out for awhile longer. Hey mothers can give advice to others but sometimes Im lousy at taking it.

Whats up with these bodies? If its not the head, its always something else. ::)

Don’t worry, her ass will be at the doctors’ office today if I have to hog tie her to get her there. Johnnie has already had one stroke. Why don’t women tell us these things ???

Elaine - good luck at the doctors.

My mom had similar head pain. She thought she was going to die. Severe pain on top of head going down neck and arm (of course we all thought stroke......) anyhow, it turned out to be a severe Pinched Nerve and took a while to get better.

I hope you have called your doc by now!!! Any diff kind of headpain should always be looked into by a doc!

I am better now Rox. Guess its a bad thing to eat pea soup and soda before going to bed? ::) Half a bottle of Mylanta and I'm good to go.

Suzy I am going to kick your butt ! Get your butt to the doctor. Your to sweet to be hurting.

I called primary doctor, he is making me a apointment with my nero again. I alway have to go through my primary doctor. They called be Nov. before I can get in.
I took a sleeping pill and a tylonal PM last night and slept all night got up without the headache but the numbness is still there. The grandbaby is always jumping on my back and grabing at my neck probley knocked something out of place. I have noticed if I am in the car and look around to see if anything is coming or to look at the baby, I sometimes get this shock through my neck. I more than likely just need ajusted LOL!
Buddy won't leave me alone so you know he will make me go to the ER if it gets worst. I am having a good day today :-)!

You be careful E, it does sound like pinched nerve, but you don't want to ignore that kind of thing. There could be a chance of paralysis if the spinal cord is damaged.

If it gets worse or changes have Buddy take you to the ER.
