I am just wondering if anyone else has noticed that when they are coming down with a virus such as a cold or flu, do you clusters seem to fade away? this is the third time it has happened to me now. It just seems that when i am in cycle i am never sick and if i get sick during a cycle, my Ha's fizzle away!

Any others??

Im am afraid the pattern is still evading us....two years ago I had a terrible case of the shingles (http://www.ninds.nih.gov/health_and_medical/disorders/shingles_doc.htm#What_is_Shingles) which was just plain awful. A terrible latent virus...during which I began a CH cycle. Last year I started off with a sinus infection AND CH at the same time...and this year is a repeat of last year. It's getting to the point where I would prefer one illness at a time please....

I don't know if my resistance gets down or what but my CH tends to invite other critters to invade my body....including depression! :-/

All I can say is CATCH THAT COLD !!!!! If that works for you then go for it... wouldnt it be worth the sniffles for relief from that horrible pain... This is worth trying next time for sure... Worse part is you can't get sick when you want to... Hope you are better for longer than your virus............. I think?! and I hope the virus doesn't kill ya>>>>>>>>>>ree

It's weird that you say that...I've been getting Clusters for the better part of 22 years. I've just noticed (during the last two cycles...) that I got violently ill right before the Clusters started & a liitle sick when they abated.

Coincidence...probably. But I don't know. I'll have to see next cycle & if the same thing happens, I'll have to look into it.

Another theory I had is since I'm getting older >:(, my body may be getting sick due to the changes the cluster cycle puts you through, at the beginning & finally at the end.

This cycle I'm in now started with a sinus infection. I couldn't get it cleared up and before I did the CH hit. This is not the first time this has happened. This time of year I usually come down with a sinus infection and then the CH's hit. Do you think..........

Yes, this is what has happened to me also during my last cycle. I don't ever recall this in the previous 12 years of having these things. I became violently ill with the flu about two weeks after my cycle started and I was sick for about one week. During this one week that I wanted to die from being so sick, the HA's were just shadows at most. Then as I got over the flu (I think it was the flu anyway) the HA's were right back where they left off. Then at the end of my cycle, I got sick again..just not as bad as in the beginning. I thought it was strange too. The only thing different for me during this cycle compared to past cycles was that I was given medications to prevent these clusters. I finally got diagnosed! So, is there a possibility the meds lowered my resistance? I don't know. Or is it I'm just getting older and my body is reacting differently? I don't know. I'll let you know during my next cycle, that I hope I never get.

Edit: I just remembered I wasn't on meds YET when I fell ill, so I don't think the meds had anything to do with it!

I don't know too much about colds or viruses but BOTH times I got kidney stones, my headaches disappeared while I was in pain with kidney stones. Weird, huh ?!

This has been around awhile. Perhaps trauma and things such as illness or the childbirth effect that has been discussed, affects the immune system or sets in motion some kind of response that either starts stops something. Stuff seems to happen that usually has a positive effect.

Whaddya think?
