This is one the paradoxes of CH.

My Dr. gave me a script for 27!
They gave me 6.
I can have 6 more next month.
I'm pretty sure this is about money.

I asked at walgreens when I could get more and the pharmacist said: Why would you want more? You can't get more than one migraine in a day.

ok buddy, just go back to what you were doing before I....

Guess you lost me here. You have a script for 27. They gave you 6. Why didn't they give you 27? Was the script for 6 with refills or what?

And I would have decked the pharmacist!! Or educated him/her with a baseball bat (they do sell baseball bats at Walgreen's don't they!!).

If they give you a hard time call the doc's office back - tell them what happened and have them call Eckerd's!!!

We have that happen all the time too Vig that is horrible... I go to refill the imatrex pills and they look at you and say you can't refill this yet it hasn't been a full month and I'm like tell my head that........ sorry you are having a rough time... if you need some meds let me know Im almost positive Daves cycle is over......... love to you and hopefully a Pain Free night............ree

Almost everything is about money! If you want 27 get your credit card out and pay for them, no one is saying you can't have them. they are saying they will only pay for 6.

Lee, $20,000.00 in debt but I can't let some insurance policy control my life. Chapter 7 is looking fine.

Vig, I am doing a survey to see if this works just for me or for everyone. Please do exactly as I ask and let me know how you make out.

Call your perscription carrier (there should be a number on your card). Ask them who to contact in the case of a medical necessity (tell them you need more meds than perscribed). They should tell you to call your doctors office. Tell the doctor you need a "letter of medical neccesity". If they don't know what it is I will email you one tormorrow. Have them send it in to the address (preferably fax #) of you perscription carrier. The letter from your doc should state

1. what you suffer from - Cluster Headaches
2. Quantity of meds you need. 30 shots per month ?
60 shots per month? Whatever your doc is willing
to perscribe.
3. The urgency of this matter. IE ... You cannot wait
a week to get these meds.

Let me know how you make out. The initial challenge is to get your doc to do the letter for more meds than the recommended dosage. Take posts from here if he/she don't believe you can shoot yourself to death with imitrex and not feel any adverse affects. After getting the letter from your doc, it is all downhill. Just a paperwork battle !!!!!!!!!! I want to see us conquer and rule on the perscription war !!!!!!!!!!!! If you have any questions you can call me at 717,957,4328

I really think most pharmacists "self-medicate".
