Title: croup tents
Post by tsayswhy on Sep 15th, 2003, 10:03am
This might sound wierd but i was just woundering now bear with me here: when my kids were little they would become sick and were put in croup tents. Now you say you wake up with a c/h 2-3 hours after you fall asleep what if thats all it took to breath 100% O2 all night do you think it would work? probably cost a lot but it would be need to try.

Careful...

Oxygen (believe it or not) is toxic at 100% for extended periods.  Your lungs are not designed to handle the oxidation power of 100% oxygen for extra-long periods.

Also, the oxygen is very dry and can dry out your lungs if you don't use a bubbler to add moisture.

I somehow doubt that was 100 % Oxygen in those tents. Wasn't it highly oxygenated air?

But I do remember Riccardo saying that since he slept with the windows open he had no attacks. Hmmm. Yet they came back.

Hmmm.

Definetly wasn't 100% O2 in the tents...They were used for years and years..sort of in the stone ages...like the Iron Lung era LOL..smiles,nancyc
