Title: Solution for Svenn - Flame away Post by jminmilwaukee on Sep 11th, 2003, 8:10am Ok all, I know this will bring on the wrath of the board but WTF?!? Is Sven 10 years old? Passing notes to the board through a friend? Just can't handle the fact that some people are jsut not nice? I know I am not alone on this but I am the only one with enough balls to say it. This is simple dumbfounding. ANyway, I suggest that Svenn put his puter skills to work and create a "Friends of Svenn" message board. You can only be a member if he invites you and can be booted at anytime for saying something that is hurtfull. Anyone else find this to be juvinile or is it just me? flame away...... |

Some smell stronger then others but this whole PC thing has gotten way outta hand. If we were all sweet little fuzzy creatures then the whole world would have Trouble with Tribbles. (If you don't know, don't worry bout it). Perhaps we should install an ignore button on the board. Then we can all help and deal with only those who we agree with. We can form clubs and give them catchy names. Hell, why not let only blond haired blue eyed white people with the same ideals chat here? Yes, a sheltered life is a carefree one. It just sucks that "walking on eggshells" is the order of the decade. My opinion (remember, I respect yours) is take the parts that you like from the board and ignore the rest. I'd love that trukey wing and can see those gibblets but don't care to eat them, I'll just have the wing thank you. If you see the gibblets and are sooo disgusted that you have to leave the table then so be it. It just all seems very childish to me. But then again, what do I know, I could be wrong. |

This is about the old-timers here. The ones who have left after a VERY long time because of bull-shit overload. I hope all the newcomers realize that it's a culmination of things. Not one in particular. The old-timers here are what made this board what it is today. A place to go to be accepted. A place to go for the best information on these headaches anywhere in the world. A place to go to laugh, for support in the middle of the night. A venue where we can all make friends with certain individuals who will call us when we don't check in. BTW - I originally came to this board back way back in 1997 or so (could be off by a year or two depending on my cycles). So veterans, don't give me this newbie shiest. I remember what this board was originally about. I personally stopped coming because I am episodic and selfeshly used it when I needed it and left when I was better. No, I do not know sven and apparently NOBODY here (Oldtimers, veterans) remembers me from many years ago. I came back to try and help others (as I have been saved by the pink ones). Anyway, we did see some true colors here which was part of my original intention. I really wanted to see how much of a club this has become in my absence. I only questioned the logic behind "giving up" on your fellow clusterheads because of a few bad apples. I still think it is a valid point to open up an exclusive club for those who are very close and don't care for the BS. This way you can still support one another by invite and keep feeling from getting hurt. Anyhow, don't hate me for being honest about my feelings toward this. I could have been phony and acted all concerned and sad about someone who ran away when the going got stupid. I will no longer express my opinions when I feel they may offend the oldtimers. I will only post happy shiny thoughts from now on. 8) Or, if you like, since I do not fit the mold of who the veterans consider worthy I will flee the board forever and go back to my selfesh ways. Can you include personal attacks on new posters, even if they display ignorance, in your/our mission statement. In my case I came to the site freaking out with a terrible new cycle. I was heavily medicated and terribly frightened of the hundreds of attacks coming in my immediate future. Not at my best. I was so serious, that I was surprised that my first heartfelt posts, although in hindsight were self important, were immediately met with sarcastic jabs, and even what seemed to be hatred. Title: Re: Solution for Svenn - Flame away Post by nancyc on Sep 13th, 2003, 4:51pm I am writing this post, not to ask for sympathy, so please dont get that impression...but to let you all know why some of us may not be posting as much as we used to..atleast me...These damn things called chs are known to cause something called depression...along with other major stressors in our life ...sometimes we end up with more stressors than we can cope with...This is where I have been...I have isolated and have had no support system because of it...my son and his wife dont know how to deal with chs...they run from my pain cause they dont understand it...my friends that dont have chs do the same thing....then when other stressors come along, I just can not cope worth a shit...So, when i come to the one place i need comfort ...I may be thin skinned...and if anyone says anything that hurts me...YEP, I get wounded major time...in other words...what i am saying, is WE DONT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN ANYONE'S LIFE HERE...we dont know that when we are a smart ass to someone here, that they may be hanging from their last thread...I am not speaking about me...or Svenn...but anyone...I am talking about compassion..about understanding...I know from talking to some of the folks that have left that that is the reason they have left..they had other things going on in their life and came here for support and love and got flamed...I am sorry if i offended anyone by anything i said but i felt like it needed to be said...Some of us are thin skinned at times in our life..Life makes us that way at times...Sometimes Life can be a bitch and we dont have that support we need at home....You guys and gals are my family and that is the reason I keep coming back...but I have been hurt here before, and I know I have probably hurt others here..if so, I am truly sorry..but we do need to watch what we do to others....it may make a BIG difference to someone's LIFE....I love you, nancyc PS..I miss you Svenn..you were a big supporter for me |

Jonny, Thats what makes a family a family... We cannot pick our family members and cannot pick the people that post here. All have different backgrounds, religions, sexual prefferences, etc etc... Not everyone has to like another persons views... take what you need and leave the rest... amen! I too am thin skinned Nancy... and have been hurt here recently... but I have also learned forgiveness. Time heals alot for me. A friend said something to me recently that made sense... she said we teach people how to treat us... If we put up with it, then it will happen over and over. In this diverse site if someone bothers you... don't put up with it but don't let one person shoo you away. I keep modifying and Im not sure what I want to say here several emotions are going through. I have tried to leave here and can't. I agree, we are like a normal family that fights and fusses and that part I can see and understand...hell, me and jonny and you can fuss and it does not faze me...but I know you guys...but what i am talking about is unneccessary shit...the flaming and bullshit that does not have to go on...and i think everyone here knows exactly what i am talking about...one thing is this post...Svenn is not here to even defend himself...so what if he decided to take a break..how does anyone know that someone in his family hasn't died or something..How do we know he is not at the end of his rope? And reading this bullshit could push him over the edge..I have not talked to Svenn in a good while so I dont know what is going on but I know ONE thing..he has always been there if I needed him..and I will be there for him..and for any clusterhead in need...this is a bunch of crap...this is what i am talking about..let's pull together here and have some compassion....that is a FAMILY!!! or atleast what a FAMILY used to be about....love ya guys, smiles,nancyc |

I am episodic and do sometimes forget what hell one goes through while in a cycle. For you chronics, holy shit, walking zombies I imagine. Anyway, I understand the short fuse as I get that way myself during an attack. And I can also understand why people get their feelings hurt and leave. So, instead af a friends of sven board, why don't all of you close to him continue support through email direct? A little more constructive recommendation I believe.....and stop sweating the small stuff. Once the cure (which could be closer than you think) is here I will not excuse you for stessing out. |
