When I over do the aspirin or other drugs that thin the blood I sometimes have nose bleed....bad ones...but they dry up...just ask your Dr. if your really worried

Hi Dave,

sorry to hear the beast is raving :(

the nosebleeds can be the effect of you taking too much imigran. I know it's hard but try not to exceed the daily limit, even try taking half doses for the severe attacks, it might not kill th epain entirely, but going from 9 or 10 to 6 or 7 can even be enough relief. The more you use it the less it will work.

Hang in there and let us know how you're doing... hope you find relief soon

Dave,
Fwiw, I had a nosebleed problem from the o2 drying out my nose. Jonny told me about a "bubbler" that you hook to the tank and it adds moisture to the air.
I'm not sure what the official medical name of it is but your o2 supplier should have them.
It's pretty cool and might be worth looking into.

Jim

Let me know if you need a bubbler.  I've got some here should anyone need them.

Uh...them babies is officialy called "Bubler Humidifier"

Due to old timers advice about cooling the O2...I throw in a few ice cubes for grins..."shaken...not stirred"

They just screw on where yer hose used to...and then push yer hose onto the little phallic do-lolly on the bubbler...a 2 minute job.

Dave,

as with any concern ask your Doc.  I've never had nosebleeds either but sometimes after a bad attack i'll get one.  It's probably from the stress.

Cheers,
Juvy

thanks guys,

i,ve asked my chemist to find a price for "laerdahl"(?)non rebreather masks(?).i dont know if they come with a humidifier, but will ask.

cat,do you know anyone in UK who could get hold of one for me?

as far as the jabs go,i,ve managed to work out how to
take the pen apart, but i,m a touch apprehensive about the whole imitrex-tip thing

doesn,t the pen stop the needle going in too far?
is a Q-tip like a cotton wool bud?
do i need to sterilise the needle between uses?
i seem to recall a post about IMITREX being available in 2mg vials now, does anyone know anymore about this?

thanks for any info

PFDAN's to all

dave
