Title: A question for episodics! Post by Elaine on Aug 14th, 2003, 6:47am It seems I am no longer chronic! I find myself with a wired feeling from time to time, its like my head is full of fluid or something (shurt up Don) ! Any way its hard to explain but I wake up at night and my head has this heavey feeling. I jump up figuring I am going to get hit but I don't. I been PF for the last couple of weeks and was for almost a year before this. Durning that year I got that same feeling. Is this normal or is something else going on ? ( God Forbid) ??? One more think sometimes I get this ack on my cluster side that just aches doesn't hurt but nothing comes of it. Is this normal? Thanks Elaine |

I describe it to my doctor that there is something swirling, lurking behind my eye. Like I went swimming and it went in my ear, but then decided to just fill the cavity on the left side of my head (shaddup!!).. |

I've never felt that unless I've been drinking the night before or have taken an amerge too many! Are you still taking meds? maybe that's the culprit? The other thing you mentioned about the fantom pain/ache. I get that all the time. Nothing to worry about. It's like a reminder to bring your imitrex with you everywhere you go, just in case...don't get too comfortable. You know what I mean? Did I mention what good news this is? hehe big hugs Ann |

I am not sure if I have experienced the swirling behind my eye, but sometimes I feel like somebody is poking at the back of my eye, also for months after a cycle. Welcome to Episodicville ;) Bryan |

Right now, for instance, even though I haven't had a real CH since the end of my last cycle 6 weeks ago* I've still got the "filled up" feeling on my CH side, around the ear and heading forward, and the kind of stabbing things one other poster described. In fact I'd have to say that, as the saying goes 24/7/365, I feel a heavy, filled feeling on the right side of my head. Better than the real thing, though. sd * ok, I lied, I had one last week in the middle of the night... but it wasn't a screamer, responded to Fiorinal, and probably served me right after ingesting too much of the product of the vintner's art. |

I get this weird feeling in the CH side of my head. Like something is moving around inside there. No pain, just weird! Its almost like my warning sign. Get ready, get ur Meds, gonna be coming soon! As far as you Elaine. I am not sure, I have never been at the chronic stage, but when in cycle. If i dont have a CH, i am usually shadowing. BTW Brian, Where in SC ya at? Maybe you will be one of the ones who get an extended remission like Charlie. I experience a pressure feeling behind my left eye and left nose. Sometimes it wakes me up and sometimes it happens during the day. Many times it never progresses to a full blown CH (thanks to verapamil). I also rarely get brief dull ache on CH side. And during some stretches within the cycle, several times a day I get short (10 to 20 sec) shooting, extremely intense, zaps of pain (probably ISH). --- Steve |

Sometimes the beast just shows up with no warning and exits the same way, other times his shadowy presence will linger for weeks. Anyway, what you describe is something I've felt before/after many CH cycles. Many PF days and nights to everyone. |

Post by Charlie on Aug 15th, 2003, 12:35am Three of four times a year, I realize I'm having a little very light but sharp zinger in the dreaded spot but it drains away in less than minute and I can't say it's really painful. It may have nothing to do with CH and It doesn't interrupt what I'm doing. Very happy for you E. Charlie |

Post by cerebus on Aug 15th, 2003, 11:50am Uss Cerebus Reports: Yeah, I know that feeling......Happens just before every cycle begins and ends after the cycle stops, I get the full head feeling the whole time my cycle is in, as if I have an upper respiratory infection or somethin'. Probably one o the reasons the docs kept thinking it was bronchitis or a sinus infection. as for the ache on the cluster side...... I get that too but usually its a sign that a HA is EnRoute, but,not always. Glad you are feeling a bit better even if your head is full of it ;D Ramon |

Until a few days ago when I signed up on this site, I didn't realize that people get CH chronically. You're all so strong. As I write, I'm having those things you've described. I call them twinges in my HA diary. Where you constantly worry, "Is one coming on?" "Should I take an Imitrex; but if I do and it's not really one coming on, just the twinges, then I wasted a pill...I only have 3 left, and no refill". I think one is coming on....see ya later. |

Post by Jackie on Aug 15th, 2003, 3:58pm Elaine, You, Jonny and Blake have all talked about how chronics have cycles within cycles....like a high/hard cycle and then a low/easier cycle. The cycle just never ends. I read your post to Blake and he says that he gets that feeling too. It happens when he's coming off a high/hard cycle. Don't know if this makes any sense but he wanted me to post to his "girl friend".... ;D Jacks 8) |
