There are so many bands, artists and musicians that have inspired me to play... Midnight Oil; Type O Negative (Everyone I love is dead...) Korn; Cher; Cocteau Twins; Deadcandance; Cold; Live; The Offspring; Black Flag; Dead Kennedys; Reba McEntire; Murder Dolls; The White Stripes; Rammstein; Anthrax; Pink Floyd; Our Lady Peace; Saviour Machine; The Moody Blues; The Byrds; Elvis Presley; Slayer; Venom; Van Halen; Black Sabbath (definitely); Alice Cooper; Styx; Pearl Jam; Superjoint Ritual; Mudvayne; Led Zeppelin; Eminem; Chevelle; Prince; Sex Pistols; Nirvana; Mother Love Bone; SoundGarden; Audioslave; Rage Against the Machine; Phil Keaggy; Suicidal Tendencies; Alice In Chains; Van Morrison; I could go on and on forever. I live for music. I am a musi-holic. My bands domain has been purchased, we just have yet to get a page up and running. What is funny is, sound doesn't effect CH, but light does - it blinds me. Anyway, just had to add those bands to the list. Top Ten? Besides the Beatles and Nine Inch Nails, they'll alway have top spots. Peace, Carl |

Check out especially his double live CD, "Here Come the Noisemakers" and his double CD studio album, "Spirit Trail." Alt-rock fans might like his latest, "Big Swing Face." And for spindrift, Carl D and others who like the obscure and experimental... Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band. No, I'm not kidding. And it's Beefheart, not Bee Fart. Real name, Don Van Vliet. Extraordinarily creative and influential - artists in everything from jazz to classical to heavy metal to punk and rap cite him as an influence. He was a close friend of Frank Zappa in their early years. Legand has it that in the late fifties, his parents moved to the suburbs to protect young Don from bad influences, and they moved in next door to the Zappas! Don and Frank collaborated on many projects up through the early 70's then had a falling out. Frank was the more talented player, and more disciplined, but many critics say Van Vliet was a more creative composer. Van Vliet retired from the music business in the early '80s and has focused on painting. Exhibits his works in Europe a lot. Is very reclusive now, rumor has it he is very ill, perhaps with MS. His music takes soem getting used to: a good start for the unintiated is "Clear Spot." Then move on to "Shiny Beast," "Doc at the Radar Station," "Ice Cream for Crow," and what could be the world's-most-important-album-no-one-ever-heard-of: "Trout Mask Replica." Enough Beefheart rant. My other favorite bands/artists: Van Morrison Joni Mitchell Grateful Dead Little Feat (with Lowell George) Steely Dan The Band Johann Sebastian Bach And I know I'll get clobbered for this one: It seems I'm the only person on the planet who thinks Pink Floyd SUCKS.
