It's been a while since I have visited, (I got some catching up to do).  But I wanted to chime in about work and clusters.  I just read a post from 9erfan about a new job and not wanting to  tell them about the clusters yet.  When I go for an interview, I make sure to tell them I have a medical condition that may require me to breath O2 for 10 minutes or so, then, I can get back to work.  By mentioning this during the interview, if I'm hired, they legally cannot fire me due to clusters.  Because they hired me knowing of the condition.  At least that's the way it works in MA. Just thought I'd drop in my two cents.

It does vary from state to state, but an employer is not allowed to directly ask an employee about disabilities (in general).  What they can ask is..."Do you have any special needs that you require to be able to perform these tasks I have listed" or something along those lines.  I do not think that any state would allow an employer to fire you for not voluntarily disclosing an existing condition if it does not interfere with your ability to perform the job as described.  If the employer asks if you have any disabilities, your response should be "In what respect does that pertain to this job?"  His next question should be something like..."Well, what I mean is, can you carry a 50lb box 100ft?  This job requires alot of lifting."  I think you get my drift.  The state employment agency knows all the rules on this, and they are more than happy to explain it.  That is where I got this info.  Insurance related to the job is a different story, but you deal with that after you are hired.
