Title: A long battle almost won! Post by Elaine on Aug 8th, 2003, 8:41am I got good news! I am almost scard to share it! To start with I am 100% sure I am no longer chronic! I went almost a year pain free and I think I just ended a cycle. I been pain free over a week now. There is hope! Second and heres where I need prayers and vibes. I leave here in about a half hour to go to my oncologst and if all turns out well with all my test! I will be a labled as a Cancer Servivor. Its been a four year battle the longest four years of my life. Its been HARD! I am sure I am going to come home jumping up and down cause I feel wonderful! I want each one of you to know that you all played a part in this. I could not of fought this battle and won alone. The support of my family and friends is what saw me through. Thanks for being here through good times and bad times. Thanks for standing beside me in all my moods bad and good. DJ, Bob P and Margi ! You guys were here from the start for me. You never left my side for a second. Jackie you and Jonny came in in the middle you stuck with me. The best part of it all is you guys kept the faith and never let me down. You pushed when I needed it. You send love when I needed it! Yur great. I hope someday I can return the support. I will never ever forget the love, the friendship and the overwelming support that I have recieved in the past few years form people I have never even met. I could not of done all I did without any of you! God Bless you all! Jackie sorry I forgot to tell ya yesterday but it sliped my mind ! With sll the girl stuff we were talking about :-)! I am a Cancer Surviver and a beautiful flower arrangement that My wonderful Doctor gave me. I am sorry it took so long to get back to ya'll but its a long drive to my doctor now and each test take forever. Some test results I have to wait for the results but Doctor gave me a tumbs up after my xray. I called Jackie as soon as I walked in the door. I had to call my mom and tell her and then when Buddy and Deveny came home well we been just talking and laughing and Thanking God for all he has done for this family. The definition of a Cancer Survivor is anyone who has ever been diagnosed with Cancer and is alive today. In the four years I have fought this I have made many friends with others who have Cancer. Each and everyone I have grown to love very much. Some right here on this board I have met. I have lost some of those friends to Cancer. I Miss them ! I also have many that are Cancer Survivors along with me. I say I am a Survivor because Of my faith In God, the support of my wonderful Family and Friends! The fact that God let me to the right Doctors and treatments. I want to thank everyone that send me every news artical and all info on different treatments. Never give up Hope, and always research and take control of your OWN health! I can never say enough as to what help I have recieved here on this site. The support here is outstanding! Its outsanding no matter what your problem is. To sum this up, FAITH, Family, Friends, and a positive attitude! This is what got me through it all! Also a good cry from time to time with a friend helped! Thanks everyone!!! Oh I just had to order a new computer from Gateway! Hopefully it will be here Friday !!! Pentium 4, 256 mgs memory 2.4 Ghz 40 G HD 64 mbites graphic Card, CD writer and a DVD player 56 K Data Modem ! I will be back up and running right in a week :-)! I am back to work on OUCH and hopefully I can give back to ya'll what you have given me. I am happy guys :-) |

I've got something to say to and about you.... You've given everyone credit and thanks for all the love and support you've received. That is most gracious of you and we all appreciate hearing how much all this has meant to you. I know you quite well by now and these thanks come straight from your "big" heart. :) I also know that we would never have considered NOT been there for you. But...you forgot to give one very important person their due credit. That person being YOU. You fought like a wild cat. You took experimental drugs. You sometimes begged to get these drugs when they didn't want you to have them and told you they probably wouldn't even work. You did all this time and time again. You clawed and scratched your way back to health. So...I want to thank you, my dear friend. Thank you for fighting so very hard. I am just happy and Thankful to the good Lord and rejoiceing. I am just Thankful to everyone!! My whole big secret is I decided to live to be a hundred, so I just put things in Gods hands. It looks like God wispered in everyones ear hear even the non believers! I thank you all. DJ Thank you for letting this place be a little more than Clusters! This place played a big part in my recovery. the people kept me going, they kept me smiling when I wanted to cry, they pushed when I wanted to give up, they made me mad when I needed something to bitch about, besides my health. This place is a God send! Donna that is beautiful! I love it! Margi you know I been Dancing all week end. Margi you know me well enough to know I don't care who is watching LOL! Now you better be careful Lady. I should have my medical bills down soon so there will be money for plane tickets, so you never know when I will be knocking on your door. I think I will go back to my little trips I use to take ;-) Bonnie send me your email addess Please, when my computer crashed so did my email addresses. How is Warren doing? Roxey I don't wish any Hurricanes on anyone but I do hope we get to see each other real soon. I would love to see my roommates again. I think I had over 32 people rooming with me LOL! My Dad who has Alzhiemer (sp) He understood what I was telling him :-) when I told them the news and mom and dad have been dancing too. This whole week end my whole famiy has been just overjoyed. LMAO Buddy! Now guys Buddy cooks breafest evey Sunday he has been doing it ever since we got together. He irons his own cloths he did it in the service and he has his own way of doing it. Most of the time he irons mine to. He irons better than me ;-)!!Now the rubbing of my feet, he must of dreamed that LOL! Now how I got the computer was I had a lap top from Gateway that is about paid off so I called them, asked them about getting anothe Computer. They are building me one and my payments stay the same but my payments go for many months to come. It did not change our monthly payments ;-)! We work together, Your the Boss at work from 8 to 5 and I am the Boss here 24/7 ! LOL! Buddy I couldn't make it one day without you either! Now that I am back, emailing, chatting and hopefully back working on OUCH! I would like to ask each of you to do one last ting for me if you can. Help make OUCH work. It can and will. Get involved, less be a team and get the word out. If you are a member of OUCH get over to the OUCH message boards and get involved. There is a membership board there. Post your ideas, post your postive thoughts on there. Maybe you have a good idea that can help even if you can't figure out the details of your ideas, someone else could take the ideas and run with it. Read the other board there. We got a lot of people working hard on things, WE have some real go getters working we need more. There are a 1003 members now. Out of 1003 Members there has to be at least a 1003 ideas ;-)! Lets ROCK and ROLL! |
