Title: What I love most about Clusterheadaches.com
Post by Carl_D on Aug 6th, 2003, 11:22pm
Hi Sportfans,
Ya know what I love about this website? A year after becoming chronic when I felt like nobody understood what I was going through and after researching Clusters online for a brief period when I happened to go to a good friend of mines house where he did a search on Clusters and that was the first time I saw this website. Like a fellow CH neighbor said to me in a message the other day I too felt like I was all alone in this world of pain but quickly found I wasn't. There are so many of us who share this pain. All of us have suffered setbacks in our walk of life, some to the point I have lost most of what I have been in the past to the line of destitution.
Another thing I love about this website is you can learn from others about meds, side effects, the highs and the lows, what it has done to us and those around us, alternative and 'unconventional' treatments, coping mechanisms, etc. But do you know what I love about this site the most?
We have become a family.
Our hearts yearn for other sufferers, while we can also vent our frustrations to one another. Like any family, some of us do not agree with one another on this or that, but that doesn't matter. My brothers continually piss me off, and yet I still love them and they love me because we are bonded by blood. The family here at Clusterheadaches.Com has a time or two where people fight and bicker at times. That happens in the best of families; and sometimes we even have to take a back seat and listen to something we may not agree with. We are bonded together by the pain. It is a pain that only another clusterhead can know. It's effects can only be known by our supporters. That is what I love the most about this place. It is a refuge for the tormented, and iron sharpens iron. As Margi says, when you run out of rope and are on your last thread - send out some fire signals. Somebody here has some extra rope.

Hands across the waters...hands across the skies...
Pf nights and days your way,
C. Franklin Daniels

When I found this site it was the same for me as most of you.  Thrilled to know I wasn't alone.  I found my magic drugs.  I don't have to see a "10" again.

But to MEET the people...unbelievable.  Instant bond.  I still have emotions that I can't explain.  Both years that I've met new people, and old, I couldn't WAIT to see again.

Why is it so hard to say goodbye to these people that I'd only physically MET 5 days ago?
Why was it harder to say goodbye to them for a year...then it was to say goodbye to my MOM for a year?

It's almost thicker then family...these guys.

This place is my passion,
Mast

I can only liken the bond to the analogy of this being a war and all of us being soldiers in that war. Only a war veteran can relate to someone who has seen war. Also, we are like marines. They say "once a marine, always a marine." The same is with us. Once a Clusterhead, always a clusterhead - in combat or out.
I have only met a couple of Clusterheads, but felt that connection. I just discovered I have a fellow sufferer just across the mighty Mississipi, who I hope to meet soon and share "war stories." I say it again: Iron sharpens iron. Armor up warriors!

My apologies for not gettin all long winded and mushy on you folks. Still don't understand why y'all let me in the door in the first place.

CH.com turned my life around 180 degrees.

I used to be miserable and depressed. Now, I'm depressed and miserable.

Well put Carl_D! I couldn't have said it better myself. This site is one of the few places in the world where you get more than you give, like it or not. 8)

Information, disagreements, laughter, sadness, and happiness are just some of the daily things that people receive around here. This place rocks!!!!!!! :) Keep rowing.

Seeya,

Jim J
