Title: Off again/on again??
Post by MANDY on Jul 30th, 2003, 3:38pm
I have been suffering from ch for about 10 yrs now, although I was just diagnosed about 1 1/2 yr ago. I have been taking pred for about 2 wks, and it has helped before. It has actually stopped the cycles before. This time however, got my first attack, started pred, no other attacks until about 4 days later --- kip 10!!! Has anyone ever had a break in the cycle like this before, every other time if I made it 24 hr between heacaches, i was home free.  I am not taking anything currently to abort, but going to see my dr tomorrow. Help. Mandy

Pred has been known to do either that, or a major headbanger after the pred has worn out....

... are you taking another preventative to build up in your system for when the pred wears out?...

Then it's something that you should consider asking your Neuro about....

... you may be in a longer cycle than last time... It happens...

Hi MANDY and not sure I met you b-4 or got to welcome you yet......yeah Big Dan is rite...you need to talk to yer doc or neuro about preventatives and now may be the time. Seems cycles can change......Brad's changed this last cycle and did not follow the regular pattern at all and he's had em about 20 yrs....and they have changed thru the years with more hits per day and more shadows. Seems imitrex and verapimil is the meds of chorice but there are other options and you will learn alot on here. Good luck and keep us posted tay ? Pam that hates when people get hit
