Anyone driving east and through the Albany area or further, there's a tornado watch/warning (whichever one is where the conditions are ripe for it but none spotted yet) in Northern Albany County and severe thuderstorms expected further East up to my area in the Berkshires. If you stop on the road and check the board and see this I'd suggest listening to the radio so you can replan your route, if need be.

Hmmm.... 90+ degrees... very humid... thunderstorms looming...
yup, I must be back in the tropics of PA.  The letdown is a bit depressing.

I wanna thank all those who worked to make the convention possible and all those who attended for making me feel welcome.  We learned some stuff and had some fun too.  It seems that we may have even stimulated Dr Marcello's interest.  Seeds are planted.

Hi all

Other than the part where I was spinning around in the muddy meridian in a major downpour just into Ohio, the trip went well. All apprx. 1340 miles of it. Unless next years convention is going to be held in my back yard, I'm flying.  :)
I wish to give a great thanks to the people who helped me out on the golf course. I owe you big time. Hopefully next year, I can buy you all beers or sumpthin'.
Off to look at the pics.

Flew through storms all the way back and gettin hit with a "normal" central Kansas severe thunderstorm now.  70mph winds, lightning, hail.  Sure didn't miss this!

Just got in 4 hrs. ago. Toronto airport is tiring, Heathrow is boring. I kept falling asleep waiting for my flight and nearly missed it.

Had me a proper meal and one of Cees' great cups of coffee - finally. No cheese yet, though, Liz!

My thanks to Cat, O'course! She did a spanking good job.

Gotto thank some others as well.

Gotto thank Elaine for the use of her phone and her voice, and for not complaining that we did not get to go to town at all.
Gotto thank  Brad and Cootie for a sustaining breakfast and interceding with the man who'd tell us how to start a dead battery and ended with a prescription to voodoo the rental car.

(You guys missed something: Cootie and I dancing widdershins round a car with a dead battery,  shaking a pack of toilet rolls, while Brad was opening and shutting the passenger door 3 times and then trying the contact from the wrong side - all according to the Avis prescription).

And thanks to Lizzy for keeping me from murdering the not so nice female person at Dodge Chrysler who could not understand why I was angry...

For whoever is interested: Avis gave me the petrol (gas?) for free 'cause of the fuck-up.

Seriously, leaving on monday morn I just couldn't imagine NOT being there again next year.
Getting home, I know it will be winning the National Lottery or else just reading the board...

It was the experience of a life time and I have taken back with me the most precious impressions, of all of you - even the ones I forgot to or didn't get to greet...

Oh, but girls, aren't we female canines on occasion?

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Random thoughts as I am only working on 2 and a half cylinders right now.

My stomach hurts so bad from all the laughing.
There are bags under my eyes from lack of sleep.
I came home with several accents: Bostonian, New Yak, Canadian, and Southern drawl.

Un-fucking-believable is an gross understatement about this week-end.  I hope you'll all read the notes on the 2 speakers when it's posted.  Cat did a great job of lining them up.

Out of the people there that I hadn't already met at some other conv.  I think I was the most surprised at Randy(Mr. Happy)  and eyes-a-fire.  Eyes is very quiet and a lot younger than I expected him to be.  Plays quitar beautifully and him and Cooties husband (mouth harp) did a little imprompto jam and were getting down with their bad selves.
Mr. Happy,  is one funny sum-bitch and had us peeing in our pants on a consistant basis.  He's also one of the sweetest guys I've ever met. Gave me 6 trex for the ride home.  I didn't let him see the tears in my eyes til he left.

The weather co-operated and the scenery was gorgeous. We didn't get to do the go carts because it sarted to rain, but some of us went golfing(DJ didn't get a Birdie this time Margi)  and others took the boat tour to a castle.

There's so much more I want to say right now.....but those pesky tears are starting.....Cat, and everyone?????    YOU ARE AL AWESOME.    Linda

Damnit, Linda - I've been doing good until I read your post.  Between you and Mast here....you two have just brought back all the post-convention partum blues we went through last year too.  I know exACTLY what you're all feeling right now.  You want to go back - you want to recapture that incredible feeling of finding people from your home planet.  The time goes by SO fast and those goodbyes are SO hard.
ok, someone pass the Kleenex please.  My littlest twisted sister made me cry again.

DJ didn't get a birdie, huh?  Did he at least get a PAH??   I hope no one had a hat attack in the back yad.  Did anyone drink too much beah?  Did you win long drive again, Linda?

And don't forgit 'chip-n-dale's' at the convention speaker deal.....ha-ha.....(remember the chipmunk) Guess I'll have to learn ta be a fly zone girl cuz I couldn't imagine missin anouther convention. Ave's rental car was haunted and sumone kept passin beer caps......it was great ! Oh yeah and that dead West Niles bird.....! This was something I had not seen coming.
I am in a strange depression.

Then it got worse.

I just got home from trying to go to my carpal tunnel therapy.
About a fourth of the way there (therapy), car leaked all it's oil out. F*CK, S O A B, M F'er !!!!!  >:(   :(
I was lucky I saw the smoke start, got it pulled over in time (I hope) so as not to burn the motor up.

My friend gave me a ride from the broke down, oil every where car. He & I both couldn't tell a thing because oil all over the place, from the motor to the rear bumper.
It's a f*ckin' mess!

*Only mode of transport.*

I hope things are going better for everyone else.

Things are real shitty here.

Bummed out KOP.   :(

well, KOP, maybe now you understand why we "internet" people offer hugs to total strangers.  These aren't conventions...they are family reunions.  And now I know you understand that feeling.  You really can't put it into words.  The depression is overwhelming after the goodbyes.  It stayed with me for a long while last year.  But...as everything else, it's survivable and treatable by just hanging out here and absorbing the vibes, now that you can put faces and memories to the black squiggles.

Sorry to hear life's giving you lemons right now.   Ooops, that probably wasn't a good analogy, huh?  ;)

Walk tall, KOP - you're a clusterhead.  oh man, there I go again.   ::) Guess you WILL be walking.  Sorry.

just tryin to make ya smile, KOP.

p.s.  almost forgot:    HUGS
