Title: No Time Off For don
Post by don on Jul 13th, 2003, 7:16pm
I believe for the second time in convention history the OUCH prez. will not be able to attend.

I can't get any time off. Only been with the company for 3 months. Leaving Boston at 5 PM on a Friday is out of the question. A 6 hour drive will be 10 hours. I would then have to drive back Sunday to be to work Monday morning.

No, I did not forget to say that.

At this time,  I have NO time coming to me. I'll explain a little further for you.

For 2 weeks I have been in a discussion with my supervisor regarding pro rated vaca time, no go. A couple days of sick time, no go. Unpaid personal time, no go.

I then tried to arrange with the property manager to flex some hours and gain comp time, no go.

Exhausted all avenues up to getting them pissed to the point they said your GONE.

By September I'll have accrued vacation time that they have to give me. I 've only been with the company a short time and still in a probationary status.

Welcome to corporate America.  >:(

Don,

You're not alone.  I am only *just* back from a pretty long medical leave, and they are balking now at the thought of sending me cross country to go to this.  I just don't get it... penny wise and pound foolish if you ask me.  As of now, I am getting extreme pressure to be here since next week is a massively important week for us (I just spent a week in NY and Boston prepping the press and market analysts... so it's not your average 'stay and work' thing I'm dealing with)

But, I'm not the president.  I am OK with that.  I'm not OK with missing this as I've been looking forward to it for so long.  Bah.

 WTF?????????

And just how are we suposed to have an OUCH convention without a President in attendance, I ask you?

Someone in an above post asked about Clusters and rage??? yep!   I'm enraged right now.  "This sucks"  doesn't even begin to describe it.  Can we all leave a day earlier, show up on his door-step and beg?

Drummer was a self=proclaimed idiot.  That's why he wasn't there.  Looks like your boss took lessons from drummer.

To be truthful your OUCH prez. has had little to do with organizing this convention. The credit all belongs to Cat. She's the wonder woman behind all this.

My not being there is more of a loss for me than for other attendees. Everyone will have a blast meeting each other and carrying on. I'll be home throwing darts at a pic of my boss.

How about a cardboard cutout? Get one of the 3 stooges and put a monkee head on it and make believe its me.

and Don?   organizing the event has little to do with the President being in attendance. I know the convention will go fine because of all of cat's hard work, but you should be there. DAMN!!!!!!!

When I talked to Slammy today and told him you weren't going to be able to be there, he was upset for you too.  He, said and I quote......"I'll bet Jonny's pissed"      I told him we alll were.

I like em about 5'7" or so.

If it weren't for the landlord, electric comp.,phone company, and having to eat occasionally I would call in sick and go anyway.

I think they would be on to me now though. Teach me to try and do things the right way.
