Title: Ice Pops
Post by juvy on Jul 2nd, 2003, 3:44am
hey everyone.  I found a new vice to help with my CPH.  Ice pops.  Usually during an attack my head starts to feel like it's on fire and some is stabbing me with a fire hot poker.  well i found something to cool the fire.

Ice pops...too bad we don't have a freezer at work.

any one else have little things that help? (yes i know this has been asked before)

I am gonna run by some ice pops.  Loved em as a kid, never knew they might help me as a grownup.  I can't hardly wait!!  Thanks for the idea.  Peace.  Stuey

Hey Juvy,

I think I might try that ice pop thing. Thanks.

The only thing that has EVER helped me (none of the meds make a dent in this beast) has been exercise. The non-impact kind. Like a Nordic Trac or Elliptical. But, now that I don't have either of those things in the house, I have resorted to weight lifting.

The minute I feel myself going into a 1 or 2 (sometimes 3 if it's a fast acting one) I jump up and grab the dumbbells. It sounds strange, but I think all that heavy breathing and muscle exertion takes the blood (pressure?) away from the head and into the lungs/muscles. Even when I am awakened by the pain in the middle of the night, I find that 10-15 minutes hitting the weights will drive it away.

I am by no means a fitness expert or body builder, but hey whatever works, right?   ;D

I buy those huge boxes of ice pops!! I keep them at home and at my office.  I feel like they may help a little.

You know.. you can make better tasting one's by freezing some Kool-Aid in ice cube trays and sticking toothpicks in 'em...
