Com'mon people........we can do this. I say we all meet at Kips house. He's on the east coast of Florida. And if that doesn't work, I'm still willing to work it out here in little old Englewood on the west coast.

I've got prices from Englewood Beach & Yacht Club-the place we had in 2001...and tomorrow I'm getting prices from Days Inn and The Veranda. I'll post them when I have them all tomorrow.

We are off to a great start. It's up in the air right now as to whether it will be the weekend of Oct. 4th or 11th. That also will be firm within a few days.

Please dont make it on Oct. 4th. I have to work that weekend...but i can come on the 11th...oh, Jayne may get to fly in with me on the 11th too! LOL..what a weekend...just like the ole days..with new clusterheads too...i cant wait..Oh, and let's do the Beach club again..it was fantastic...I may even find my PRIZE this time LOL...smiles, nancyc

I just talked with Englewood Beach & Yacht Club (EBYC) and find that, being time-share condos whose owners either use them themselves or rent them out to people like us, the owners have not yet notified EBYC about using or renting..........so my friend and ex-co-worker is going to start making phone calls today to the owners.

I've also checked with another place on the beach, which I would highly recommend, called Castaways and they do have several 2 br, 2ba units available on the beach. They have a 3 night minimum at $97.00 per night or $674 for the week. This place is nicely furnished and has outdoor grills, a pool with self-bar and very tropical atmosphere. It is right next to the Englewood beach on the Gulf. Also within walking distance to a couple of very good restaurants, great seafood & steaks, and the Tiki Bar with its' Island Music (and food).

If I don't hear from EBYC within the next two days, I think we sould book with Castaways. They require a $200.00 deposit to hold the unit and have a 45 day cancellation period.

There's also the Veranda Inn with the usual double occupancy for $62.00 per night, a 2 br.efficiency of sorts. king and double, with a refrig and micro for $77.00, and a 2 br apt with king, twins and sleeper sofa for $110.00.

Forget Days Inn....wouldn't recommend this one.

The sooner we book, the better the chance for a unit closer to the beach.

Veranda Inn Englewood does not have a web site. I've never been inside the place so I don't know what condition it is in, but it's only about 8-10 years old.

Oh we can count them, all right. Anything considered "long term memory" still works around here. We just can't find them to count them. Then there's those pencils that keep missing the holes.........kind of a Florida thing, missing holes......guess it's par for the course. (Yes? And?)
