Title: Computer Help (Please) Post by KingOfPain on Jun 23rd, 2003, 10:59am I know that a picture has to have a web address/URL to be able to insert it into a thread/post. My question (please) is: Is there a way to give pictures (on my hard drive ,on a picture CD, non web addressed pictures, etc...) a web address to be able to post them? I have tried to send them to myself (via e-mail) in order to give them a web address. The web address from the e-mail site ( web address that resulted for the pic(s) after sending them to myself) doesn't work right. Am I asking/trying for something that cannot be done? Maybe it is a simple process? I am at a loss. I sure wish I was more comp literate. ::) If you could help me in this matter, I would be most appreciative. If you can help, please explain it thoroughly. If you would prefer a PM response, that's cool. I have some really cool pics I want to share with all of you. Thanks for your time & help. KingOfpain |

Title: Re: Computer Help (Please) Post by BruceD on Jun 23rd, 2003, 11:17am Hey KOP, I believe there is software available to let you do exactly what you want, although I haven't had any experience with it. My question would be: Why would you want to? You can just as easily upload those pictures to a free site (like www.imagestation.com) and then share the whole album (or insert a single picture in a post) The only caveat is that it seems that this board requires short image links so you'll have to use something like tinyurl.com to shorten it. Anyway, that would be my recommendation. It limits your exposure for any possible hacking and also frees up your bandwidth on your connection. Take care BruceD <edit> Seems I was a bit slow in typing my reply... Suzy & cathy beat me to the punch. :D |

Title: Re: Computer Help (Please) Post by KingOfPain on Jun 23rd, 2003, 2:43pm Thank you BruceD. I did have to reduce the URL's to get them to work. Thanks again to you all, that has been something I wanted to know how to do for the longest time. KingOfPain |
