Title: Computer problem need help! Post by Elaine on Jun 17th, 2003, 5:33pm Hi, When I send email some people are saying they are getting an attachment with their email. I did not send a attachment. I have updated my virus detection every week and know its up todate. It is not detecting any virus. Any advice??? |

Title: Re: Computer problem need help! Post by BlackDog on Jun 17th, 2003, 5:43pm Elain, Last time i saw this it was either you are sending email in 'html' format and it needs to be switched to 'plain-text' format. Or visa versa. Maybe someone can explain to you how to actually change the setting. It depends upon the mail client (program) you are using. I run a tech. company (small) when I am not having CH. like now...hard to concentrate a bit or i'd trouble shoot further right now. Good luck. Stay PF, Darren ;D |

Title: Re: Computer problem need help! Post by Mark C on Jun 17th, 2003, 5:51pm Hi Elaine, Go here (http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym) and click on the "go" button to get to the on-line virus scan. It is the latest definitions and is a good tool. You will have to allow it to download a small .cab file to allow the scan to run. I have used it many times with no problem. This is just to make sure you do not have a trojan. By the way...do you use MS Outlook for your e-mail? Let me know. See Ya, Mark |

Title: Re: Computer problem need help! Post by Mark C on Jun 17th, 2003, 6:08pm XP and 2000 also have a "slideshow" feature that imbeds a small .dat to organize the thumbnails in multiple image files. I also believe you are right, her html settings are off. I am not an Outlook sharpie at all but I do know they changed some default settings on the last big service pack update, such as not allowing attachments by default. Here (http://www.microsoft.com/office/outlook/default.asp) is the Outlook homepage, it might help. I wish I was more help E! Mark PS- Here (http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2000.htm) is another good Outlook page, a little better interface, good luck. |
