Title: Follow-up to lefty-righty question... Post by fubar on Jun 16th, 2003, 3:31pm This question is a little different. It's a two-part question. First, what side do you get your headaches on, and second, do you consider yourself a left-brain person or a right-brain person or neither? I clipped the following description of right vs. left from funderstanding.com: Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking: Left Brain Logical Sequential Rational Analytical Objective Looks at parts Right Brain Random Intuitive Holistic Synthesizing Subjective Looks at wholes Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity. So, which side do you have pain on, and which category would you put yourself in? I'm curious if there is any correlation. -Fu BTW, I'm CH-right, left brained. |

Title: headacheRe: Follow-up to lefty-righty question... Post by fubar on Jun 18th, 2003, 2:24am I'm sure this has no medical relevence because this is a random sample, but here are some results so far: from 24 counted responses, we have 19 of 24 are left-brained (79.2%) 13 of 24 are left brained, right side cluster This represents 54.2% of the total, and 68.4% of left brained) 6 of 24 left brained, left side cluster (25%) Nobody has reported right brained, left cluster yet. Interesting results, I think. -Fu |
